The whole complex is very nice, clean and good situated. The room we had was a family room..a lot of space as we where only there as a couple.Wifi is free and the Tv had international programs. It is only 1/2 hour walk to the town, but there ist also a nice waling path. Rooms are cleaned every day, The staff was very nice and helpul and there was also a woman who made massages as a moderate price. There are a lot of cats and peacocks , we had the impression they are treated well . There is also a part here they held deer, but they had to small a space we think. We where very satisfied with this hotel!

I booked this holiday with Tui, after checking the hotels own web site, I noticed that sun beds on the beach are not free for all guests and were chargeable with some rooms, as Tui and the hotel have different names for the standard of room. I made enquiries to Tui and was told we had free sun beds, wrong we did not, the management told us that Tui wanted the price cut to the bone and this is the reason, so budget for an extra 8 euros per day, not a lot but disgusting for a hotel of this standard.

We were warned, that it could be 5 to 10 minutes walk from some rooms to the reception and dinning area, ok you take your chance, but no, every person we spoke to that was with Tui where in the highest rooms, luckily they have buggies to transport you about. We asked for an upgrade, but they said we are full, it was nowhere near full. The rooms are very nice and very modern and well serviced, however the water is very hard, take some special soap with you, the food is all buffet and very good and tasty, at breakfast as in most places, they serve cool tea, the bar prices are reasonable but cocktails and spirit mixers are small measures, the beer and the merlot are excellent. The location is quite remote with nothing nearby, bars and restaurants etc. there is a nice walk over the hill into town, takes about 40 mins, or a 6 euro taxi by road.

If you want a very quiet and relaxing holiday this place is for you, but I prefer a bit of life, the evening entertainment is miniscule, only about twice a week and rubbish, the entertainment area and the bar is beautiful, but nothing going on, most people leave the dining area by 9.30 and go straight to bed, not my kind of place, I think part of the problem is not enough Brits there, most guests are Romanians and Bulgarians with some Russians.

We hired a car for 4 days from Potos car rentals, to relieve the boredom, however Makryammos is the best beach on the island by a long way but Golden Beach was our favourite, it’s got life.

Room tip: try for a room at bottom of hill

We went last week in September.I am disabled in wheelchair,
Flights to and from with TUI from Gatwick we were well looked after, Airport at Kavala is very small and having work done to uprate it..20 min on coach to ferry, 30 min on ferry then 10 min to Makryammos. A collection of bungalows on the hill side down to the beach. The hotel runs golf carts around all day so you can ride to the beach/restaurant. It has a Taverna, beach bar and pool bar although as we were in the last week till closure all was winding down.
TUI had done a poor job communicating with them (and us) about my disability but The hotel jiggled rooms so that we were down near the beach wit flattish ride for my wheelchair. (Path are mixed from very bumpy to smooth with some low kerbs to negotiate and steepish in places). Nice bay and beach The hillside being wooded gardens. Peacocks strut around, there is a deer pen as well.
Breakfast and dinner were buffet with a sizeable spread of hot and cold varied on a daily basis. Wine not dear to have with meals as well as Macedonian beers. Usual dash to get in at 19:00 hrs and tables do get filled. Guest were predominantly Russian, Bulgarian, and Brits. If you are in the expansion to the restaurant, which is partially in open air, they do smoke after meals which I don't like. Although not in the main Restaurant which does fill rapidly.

The hotel is a fair walk back to town where the nearest shops and restaurants are. There is an ancient amphitheatre some ruins and a small museum. Car rental is not expensive, roads are mixed and I suspect busy in the summer. Takes a good 2hours to circumnavigate the Island and there are places to visit of historical interest. Plus a spring where drinking from it guarantees pregnancy!!.

Room tip: Bungalows on hillside. t The two room that we had for one night was on the upper side of the slope but very nice.

We were very impressed with the bungalows and the grounds; beautiful and well maintained. We were halfboard. Tge breakfast was super but the buffet evening meal was very average. Much better quality in the town. The set up ia great for family with young kids or elderly folk.

We are here for 4 times. The animation is amaizing. Thank you to Nina and Maria. The kids club is near to the pool in the right end of the beach, it is not so easy to found it. The rooms are very good. Rooms from 50-55 are very quiet near to the forest, but in the evening you should take a free electric car to the hill, they are working till 22h. The staff is very good. The food this year worst than 2017. There is a mini market were you can buy bottles wather for the room, books or something for eating or swiming toys.

Room tip: Rooms from 51-55 and 41-44 are quiet.
