Had a week in Votsalakia last week and this was by far the worst of the restaurants for food and service we tried. Main courses turned up before we had finished our starters, food was average my wife had squid and it was very tough, I had chicken souvlaki which was ok. Service was slipshod and inattentive, I don't know if the little guy with the cowboy boots is the owner or not but if he is then he needs a better team with him.

Only plus point was the location on the beach but the are better places to eat with views in this resort.

This place is located along the beach, it has a lighthouse at the entrance. The menu is not really extensive but has some nice dishes. The swordfish is excellent, grilled to perfection. The owner Nikos and his son are very friendly. They have live music on Saturdays.

A superb Taverna sitting right on the beach at the Ormos end of Votsalakia, just offthe main road. Brunch at Nicks is a truly wonderful experience. We had the omelette which was freshly cooked and was crammed full of ham and peppers. In addition there was a side salad and bread included too. Normally I would have had an Amstel or a Methos but tried a local brew called FIX this time which I found not so heavy as the other two. Coffee was the order of the day for my wife and this too was very enjoyable. Nick comes around and has a chat with you about almost anything and he appreciates you trying out the Greek language (but then they all do!) and reminisces about the lamented Drachma currency (but then they all do!). Bruch for two with drinks plus a huge yoghurt with honey for afters (there is no thing as a Greek yoghurt!) all for less than £15! Yumm.

A really good value, try the clams on the half shell! Outdoor dining on the beach, traditional Greek food. Friendly and good for kids.
