This is really a gem of a hotel: the Karras family and bar staff make you feel really welcome and relaxed and are super helpful. At the same time as this 'family feel', the hotel is really professional and well-appointed: lovely rooms, good and effective air-conditioning (important if you are planning a trip in the summer!) and the pool is fantastic. I was there for a yoga retreat at the Egg, five minutes away (which is also awesome). If you are after beaches, you will need a car, or be prepared to hitch or a half hour walk in the sun. A great location for exploring walking routes.

Turn up, drop your bags and let the family look after you.

Home, from home in a hotel that cares about their guests in all sorts of small and unexpected ways. Gentle efficient service, always friendly and relaxed.

It’s a spotless 3* with fresh room furniture, slightly let down by the showers. That aside, with private balconies and views over the sea; you can’t go wrong.

The pool a perfect place for a post Yoga sunbathe/bliss-out. The hotel very well setup to support the Egg studio’s retreat programme - a five minute walk down the road. Grab one of Dimitris’ evening cocktails, relax and watch the sun melt into the sea.

Get Effie at reception to get you a scooter/moped and spread your wings, there are near-private beaches and lovely tavernas to explore - as well as the incredible panegyric-saints-day parties that pop-up in mountain villages. Don’t worry no one drives much faster than 30km/hr - the island vibe doesn’t seem to allow it.

Great for families, yoga groups, and also for couples looking for a well placed comfortably relaxing hotel to base exploration of the northern side of this incredible island.

Notes: taxi was 60Euro and over an hours drive from the airport. The port of Evdilos is 15 minute/15 Euro drive. Avoid the rental firms in the port.

We have booked 2 rooms for 8 nights (extended family). The rooms are Ok, especially the ones in the first building. Very clean rooms, gentle stuff, pleasant lobby and bar, you can enjoy your drink or light meal or sweets in front of the pool. Breakfast very good, a combination of usual european-american standard type and greek traditional pies, cookies and dishes, which were renewd almost every day.
We had our own car and it was a advantage (there are enough parking places).
The hotel is situated near to small village Avlaki, in the north part of the island, almost 7 km from Evdilos (harbour and big village), where you can find everything. But beaches, supermarkets, restaurants are available in distances of 2 or more km, so car or bicycle is necessary. (The roads are a bit dangerous)
If you need an accomodation in tranquillity, with a good view to sea, pool, rich breakfast and with good prices it is the right place for your holidays.
If you are addicted to Internet or you need to use your mobile phone continuously, island Ikaria isn't the best place, as the Internet connections aren't good, but your impressions will be the best ones from the other points of living.
We live far away from Ikaria, but if we visit the island once more, we won't search for an accomodation (as we hove done this time), because we will book without doubt in the same hotel.

Room tip: Rooms in the first building have a very good viwe to sea

Great centrally located hotel that is family run.

The room was very spacious with a modern decor and even had a small clothes line with pegs on the balcony which was a rare find.

The daily breakfast had lots of choices and the outdoor seating was nice although overrun by bees.

The restaurant also had great salads on offer which were delicious especially the Dakos salad.

The only downside some will pick up is that wifi was poor however when on holidays the whole point is to disconnect and just sit back and enjoy.

We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
