“Central and quiet with great service”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We stayed on vacation while visiting northern Greece, starting with Thessaloniki. The hotel's services are great - they looked things up for us, helped us with restaurants, etc. Location is very central for touring around. Breakfasts were superb - fresh pressed orange juice, local pies and sweets, espresso... Overall, we would definitely come back again.

Room Tip: Rooms with an ocean view are lovely

We stayed a total of three nights and absolutely loved it. It is very well situated in front of the ocean. The staff was friendly and efficient and pays attention to details. Breakfast was a nice treat with a wide spread of food, freshly squeeze orange juice in a nicely decorated room. The restaurant is Italian and we dined there one night. I ordered the menu of the day and my friend a la carte. They brought a huge portion of my salad to share with my fiend. The full course meal was very competitively priced and they did not charge us for water nor cover.

The room were tastefully decorated in a contemporary design.

The only downside was the lack of gym facilities or a swimming pool. However, all in all, I would definitely stay there again

Think the best city hotel in Thessaloniki. Very good service, nice view and very well situated near the city centre. Little overpriced but believe that is the best around so they diserve it. Problem with their parking which they charge extra (instead of just adding it ti the room price). Enjoyed it.

My family recently spent 10 days at this hotel. The main reason to visit this town was to visit my wife's grandfathers grave in the WW1 allied cemetery. Also it coincided with our wedding anniversary, so we stayed a bit longer.
The location of the hotel adjacent to the sea wall is superb. The rooms are great , but it's the care the staff, and how they look after you that stands out.
They really spoil you in the bar with the little extras.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: If you can afford it treat yourself to a sea view.

A very conveniently located hotel on the beachfront. Comfortable rooms with fantastic view of the sea and the sunsets. All places of interest within short walking distance--museums, shops, bars, restaurants. For interesting places to savour the local cuisine, go to the Ladadika area and you will have plenty of choice. Funky rock bars, some of which with live music in Valaoritou street and neighbouring streets later in the evening. As for shopping of locals products, a visit to Athonos square is a must. Various shops with herbs, honeys, marmelades and other wonderful products. Olive oil soaps are also a must buy when you are in Greece. In a pharmacy near the hotel I bought the most wonderful handmade 100% olive oil and herbs soap (the pharmacy is on Tsimiski street between Navarinu Sqaure and Pavlu Mela street). Speaking of Navarinou sqaure, where there are Byzantine ruins, you will find many places where you can eat crepes--go for the ones with chocolate filling and you won't regret it. You can eat good quality gyros on Pavlu Mela street towards the White Tower. A bit further down on your left, opposite the tower, there are a couple of nice eating places with local meze.
A great place to have your coffee or drink is at the roof restaurant/bar of Electra Hotel on Aristotelous sqaure. And don't leave the city without buying the famous "tsoureki"--a special kind of very soft cake--from Terkenlis (on Aristotelous sqaure and Tsimiski street). You can also find this is the duty free shop of Macedonia Airport to bring some home.

Room Tip: On the sea front

Great location right on the water front, about 5 minutes' walk from the white tower and the parc they are embellishing around Alexander the Great's statue, and right next to the buzzing bars and restaurants as well. It's about 10-12 minutes walk from the Ladadika area with its cool restaurants and bars, and also within 10 minutes of St Sophie and Tsimiski shopping area.

The hotel is now about 5-6 years old (in 2013), a nice modern building contrasting with the old waterfront buildings of the city that haven't changed much in the last 30 years. The staff is very friendly, the rooms smell like you are entering a spa! Well appointed, super clean bathroom...

On the minus side, there is no pool or gym, the breakfast spread, although adequate, is not something you would tell your friends about.

Bottom line, if you want a boutique hotel in the centre, this place is great. If you want gym, pool, golf etc, then best stay at the Hyatt close to the airport...

Room Tip: this is probably a hotel where the premium for sea view is worth. I took a city view room and regre...

We visit Thessaloniki several times a year (both during winter and summer) and we always stay at Daios. We have stayed at both sea view rooms (the view is extraordinary) and city view rooms. Decent speed Wi-Fi is and mini bar are free of charge.
The location of the hotel is excellent, the view magnificent, the service very good. Staff is very polite.
Some tips:
1. Sea view rooms at the first floor can be noisy since they are directly above a bar, operating long hours
2. In the summer there is noise coming from the street at the sea side front of the hotel, sleeping with open windows is difficult
Daios is not the best 5* hotel we have visited (no gym, no coffee maker in the room, no iPod docking station in the room etc.) but we will come again!
It is highly recommended if you like the location, the view and the modern design

Room Tip: Avoid sea view rooms on first floor, they are quite noisy
