The surroundings (streets) are a little noisy, but its a pretty decent hotel for a few days stay. Well worth the price - close to the city center + breakfast included. The staff was really helpful and everyone spoke English. The rooms are a little old and the 'bathroom' is just a box in the room, but it was still cozy. Free wifi + AC was available too.

Exactly what we expected from the photos, very good for the price. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The location is very close to the city centre - you can walk everywhere. The buffet breakfast is fair for the price - cereal, yogurt, tinned peaches, eggs and bread etc. :)

Room Tip: Ask for an extra pillow - the pillows are quite hard.

The hotel is located right in the center and price is great, but must say that on the pictures the hotel looks much better than it is - poor bathrooms and very poor bed mattress!!! I stayed only 1 night in room 22 , but could sleep at all. The fridge was noisy, had to switch it off. The gap between the floor and the door was at least 5 cm so could here the other guests passing by and talking.....sorry but would stay there again.

Room Tip: Higher floor and a back room away from the street.

a terrible place...!
this hotel is situated in the middle of bars and clubs, full of noise without having any sound isolation at all, you can hear the music from all the places til the early morning!
in the rooms there is a window with no shutters or at least a heavy curtain....so the re is pleanty of light in the room, during the night from the city lights and then the sun is coming in the morning... the combination of noise and sun makes it impossible to sleep!
the room i s not a nice one, really ungly, and the sheets are not big enough for the beds so part of hte mattressis uncovered..
you cannot lock the room. you can have the door closed but not locked! Furthermore, when you leave the room the electricity in it is turned off and nothing works..neither the fridge!
The toilet is tiny! if your weight is more than 55 kilos and you are not very flexible, you will find difficulty on reaching the shower!
And then the sevice!! I remained speechless when i arrived and the recepionist needed 30 min to find our rooms (in the huge hotel of 35 or something rooms). The rooms were written in a piece of paper but he couldn't even read it! Of course he did not help us with the luggages (in order to reach the reception from the entrance you must do some stairs and there is no elevator) and he claimed that this would be his job but he is not willing to do it because he plans to leave this job!
it was really awful in any aspect!

Room Tip: there is no good rooms!

We stayed at Nea Metropolis for 3 nights in January 2014.
The stuff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and the location was just a five minute walk from Aristotelous square in the city center.
I would certainly revisit Nea Metropolis on my next visit to Thessaloniki.
