“Value for money if you do not mind noise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

The hotel is in one of the busiest areas of Thess, night life does not stop until the wee hours of the morning, so you should only stay at this hotel if you do not mind the noise from the nearby bars. I did not mind it.

The hotel has nice, refurbished rooms, kind and helpful staff, excellent location, it really is value for money (a single room cost me 75 euro for two nights).

One warning about parking: The hotel does not have its own parking lot . The nearby private parking (15 euro a day) does not work on Sundays, but you can still pick up your vehicle since you get a password to exit the parking lot. At any rate, the hotel should provide more specific info about parking options.

Wi Fi is not free as advertised on their web site.

All in all, considering the price, the location and quality of accommodation, I would stay at Astoria again, but not for more than 3-4 nights.

I checked into the Hotel Astoria because they can offer rooms with kosher food (i chose the three meal package. Lunch was boxed so i could take it with me during my daily wanderings Upon arrival i found out that the host the HaShalom Kosher Restaurant that is open in the evenings. And that they are aware of Shabbat needs, like being on a lower floor, and a shabbat door that is not electronic and they even have people who already know that you need to have someone open your room door on Shabbat.

The hotel kosher kitchen is certified by Chabad of Saloniki, who also have a shabbat meals program at teh hotel. The week that i was there, there were 26 people for Friday night dinner.

The Chabad Shliach, Yosef Kaplan was so nice and so helpful.

Located very conveniently in the Center of Thessaloniki just couple of hundred meters away from Tzimiski shopping area. The room was on the sixth floor overlooking the street, it was noisy, but that did not bother us. The double bed was not very big for two people, but the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom are was renovated and clean. the room is not very spacious, but for us it was ok, as booked the hotel on economy for our weekend trip to Thessaloniki.

From Astoria you can walk 5 minutes to the area called Ladadika, where there are plenty of Greek restaurants with great food and a lot of night clubs and bars that work late in the night. The hotel has its parking and although the parking was shared with the public, there was always spot available for our car.

If you are looking for a convenient low budget place to stay in downtown Thessaloniki, Astoria is a great choice.

Room Tip: Very convenient location - great value economy hotel

I went to this hotel for a kosher meal, and I have only praise. The reception staff are great, the food was amazing and served nicely. The wifi worked well and the hotel looks clean and smart. I was only ion town for a day but if I am there longer I will stay here. I highly reccomend it.

It's not the best 3 stars hotel in Europe. The rooms are small, but comfortable. The bathrooms are clean but uncomfortable. The breakfast was under my expectation. In general, the hotel is clean and quiet and the service sactisfactory.
The best of this hotel is the location , near all the tourist and bussiness places.

I can't find any negative aspects about the hotel given you belong to the right target group. If you are looking for a relaxing resort at the beach this hotel is absolutely wrong for you (although the sea can be seen from some of the balconies). However, if you want to check out the city I can highly recommend it.

The location could not be any better, it is right in the center and a load of taverns, pubs and also highly visited clubs are literally around the corner. Also within easy walking distance are tons of stylish cafés along the seaside and the famous white tower. Also the less touristy party areas are easily reachable by foot.

The personell is professional and friendly. The certified greed breakfast is simple but excellent because of the high quality products from the area.

I stayed here for two weeks with my friends and can only say bravo!

Room Tip: Facing the street for action of facing the patio for chilling.
