Thursday 19 July. We were told that the Castro area was worth a visit. We wanted to eat there. We asked a young lady we met in a nice coffee shop for a recommendation. She did not hesitate and recommended this taberna. Did not know exact address and investigated via google... we took the no.23 bus to the Castro.
The place was full of Greek people. We waited for a table. The food was excellent: fresh and tasty. We had the smoked cod, the tongue, the aubergine salad and some courgette croquette fritters (tapas size but enough for us in such a hot evening: we paid 17.50 euros, top value in my opinion. We were also offered some excellent watermelon). We did not drink any alcohol as we were being wise. Service was friendly, unobtrusive. Ambiance same, and very happy but not loud, nice people everywhere. And then... the music started!! wonderful Greek singing and playing - a marvelous way to spend the evening. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
