The hotel's lobby is as good as the restaurants and it's the main thing of the hotel, all the corridors and rooms are dirty and very dirty, very small, the furniture is worn, the beds are hidden, the hotel just needs to come to dinner everything else is very bad especially if you stay in the rooms

We nevertheless chose The Met where we had previously made the decision to go to the Hyatt. Both because of the 5 stars. Finally opted for The Met because of some extras that we got when booking directly at the hotel. This involved free parking in the garage and an upgrade if possible. The reception was fine but there was no question of an upgrade, too bad but unfortunately. The room was fine, clean and spacious with no coffee and tea facilities, for a 5 star hotel a lack. Diner in the hotel is very good. The next day we went to shower after which the bathroom ran under water. Before going to the reception we first had breakfast. It was very busy, unclear and tables were not cleaned up due to the bad cooperation. After a short wait we got a table that was clean and covered. The glasses that stood here, however, were not clean, gave this to a lady and reported this. Perhaps she did not understand me, but I felt a bit crazy about whether she wanted to say take a look. In addition to the bread on the cupboard was a huge dust layer, it is a small effort to keep this clean. The breakfast was fine and tasty. This breakfast room is certainly not worth five stars, we have a lot of experience in hotels. We reported the blockage at the reception and immediate action was taken. We got another room, an upgrade with a view of the harbour and coffee and tea facilities. Good service. The next day again messy with breakfast. We went to look at the rooftop pool. When we got out of the elevator we immediately went right and walked behind the counter where the towels were. The lady of the glasses at breakfast the day before, was here too and came to us and indicated that we were not allowed to walk there.
There was no deposit and there were no signs and it was an ordinary path. In addition, the rules for use of the swimming pool were also indicated here. I did not like the way she spoke to us and I indicated that the tone could also be different. This was not responded to. I suspected she had an eye on me and recognized me. We then walked back slightly to walk around the counter. And further explored the area from the roof. All in all, we had a good time in Thessaloniki but would choose a different hotel next time. I indicated this on departure at the reception, after which I also indicated that we were frantic Mariott guests, however, it is not in Thessaloniki, where the receptionist indicated that The Met was in the Mariott group. That surprised me. We are very critical and wanted to be standing as customer on 1,2 and 3 stay in a five star hotel. During our stay in Greece we stayed in 14 hotels also 4 star and some we had a better feeling then unfortunately The Met. Compliments to the reception, the drivers/congierge of the bus, the lady room cleaner.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for the effort you took to inform us in general about the good level of our service, with an exception of the incidents you have experienced.

We can ensure you that corrective actions have been taken, surely those were an exception to our high standards and with your help we can always correct them.

Thank you once again for your input and for choosing The Met Hotel for your stay.

We are looking forward to welcome you back soon.

Kind Regards,

We were there for two nights in September. No hotels available downtown as there was the expo going on. Hotel a bit far out of town, but they had a shuttle to the center of town, and it wasn’t too expensive to take a taxi/Uber back. Last one back at night was late enough to have dinner and return. Lovely room , comfortable beds, spacious . WiFi in room worked very well Parking was downstairs in basement , and they gave us a ticket for it - could take car in and out. Very helpful front desk, friendly, and a great breakfast buffet! Enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in this hotel for a week in the height of summer!

The hotel is undoubtedly very cool and as an oasis of calm - it really does fit the bill!

The roof pool is good and although a bit small, it is really gorgeous looking over the port.

The bars are great, the roof restaurant is excellent and lunches are cheapish and plentiful!

I liked this hotel because it was Asian in quality and away from the hub hub of the main drag of Thessaloniki. The beds were good and the shower nice too. Water pressure for baths was low, soundproofing was good too.

Now, the down sides. The hotel is out of he main city. It is walkable, but no matter what the front desk say, I wouldn’t advise it at night. It is near the port, there are many homeless people there and behind the hotel a couple of blocks is the red light district.

The port is still very active and as a result there is a lot of dust that flies over to the hotel, I wouldn’t say it was unbearable, but it is noticeable.

With regards to food, there is a great little food truck opposite the hotel and I had some great gyros pies :-)

Having said all this, don’t be put off, I have stayed in many of the thessy hotels and this is probably the best!! Go and stay and enjoy the roof terrace and pool.

Ps the pool shuts at 1900 every day, so no late night swims!!!

Not in central downtown, but a shuttle to central each hour.

Staff works hard to please, large soaking tub in room.

Great breakfast, large rooms, comfortable beds and pillows.

Quite rooms...downtown hotels can be

very noisy.

Recommend this place..great dining restaurants in the hotel
