I booked the last 2 weeks in Sept 2013 in this hotel purely on the great reports of other Tripadvisors and every good thing advisors are saying about this hotel are true so don't hesitate to holiday there, so rather than go over what everyone else is saying i'll concentrate on getting to the beach. route1 the woodland trail direct from the hotel's garden, this is the quickest way down but there is some danger ,there are some steps but they are irregular and dirt made, some parts of the track are just dirt track and at one point quite steep and narrow, flip flops will not be the best footware for this trail. route2 walk out the front of the hotel turn left towards Kallithea on the main road and approx 300 yards along you'll come across a tarmac road on the left which goes down directly to the beach ,this road is very steep and you end up doing fairy steps down but its easier than route 1 but takes longer and the climb back up is exhausting ! route3 if you follow route2's route and pass that left turn carry on to an under pass by the main road go down the steps and then follow the road left which brings you to the beach at the same place as route 2, the benefits of route 3 is that the gradient is much easier to manage but obviously longer. so there you have it, basically getting to the beach is a chore but the beach and sea are worth the effort. We tried all 3 routes and ended up going down to the beach using route2 and coming back using route3. I'm posting some photos of the woodland trail to give you an idea.

Just come back from 2 weeks in Kallithea, the hotel didn't disappoint, lovely and clean, perfectly relaxing and lovely staff, beautiful pool area and if you were lucky the local peacock may drop by for a visit. We also paid 10 euros for bar-b-q night, you don't actually see them at the bar-b-q but we had a lovely evening meeting other guests the night we went.

Kallithea itself was a bit touristy for us, althought the Aphrodite restaurant down by the beach was a perfect setting for a a meal in the evening, and the Yellow Bar for a pre-dinner coctail or lunch was also great. Have to say it's a bit of a climb if you go to the beach, ok going down but as the saying says what goes down must come up:-)

Mostly we visited Afitos, 20-30 minute walk but worth it as a perfect Greek Village, Thea Thelassi restaurant overlooked the sea and was lovely. Lovely little shops and a great atmosphere, a cab back to the Country Inn was 5 euros.

We did 2 trips, Mount Athos, a long day but very worth it and the Markets and Winery Tour, this included a trip to an organic vine leaf farm and was th ehighlight in our opinion.

All in all a great holiday, than you Country Inn.

Just returned from a weeks stay & I have to say it is the most relaxing place we have ever been to!

Our room was spacious, clean, comfy & will plenty of storage. The bathroom was bigger than average for a Greek property.

We were lucky enough to have been given a room with a fantastic view out to sea & of the pool.

This place does exactly what it says, perfect for relaxing & lazy days by the pool with a book, along with a cooling drink.

Breakfast was plentiful & well laid out. The only areas for improvement could be a change of variety each day with the fruit & perhaps some pastries. 3 out of the 7 days there was a choice of a hot item, perhaps this could be extended to every day.

Katherine who works the bar from 7am-4pm is truly a little gem. Nothing is ever too much trouble, she is always pleasant & extremely polite. Brought me to tears on the last day by giving me a hug as we were leaving.

Location is great a 5 minute walk into Kallithea, which is quite lively, expensive & has an abundance of fast food places! Afitos is a 25 minute gentle stroll in the opposite direction. A traditional Greek village with numerous bars, restaurants, shops & more reasonably priced. 3 euros for half a litre of wine & 5 euro cocktails.

Would we ever go back.......would we & as yet we haven't been back to the same place twice but this place could be the one!

If you are looking at going here do not think twice!! It is most definitely the best place we have ever stayed in Greece!

Room Tip: Sea views rooms are cooler

This was our second visit. We are often wary of going back to places in case we are disappointed second time round. That was not the case! We had another wonderful, relaxing stay. Rooms are comfortable, service excellent and pool area clean and relaxing. A great place for peace and tranquility

This is a wonderful hotel, extremely clean with a nice pool, garden and a wonderful sea view. Some reviews state that it is not a kid friendly place which is not true. My 7 year old son had a lot of fun on this trip. We met another family with 2 girls about his age and they had a lot of fun. The hotel itself doesn't offer entertainment but the town of Kallithea is few minutes walk from the hotel and has everything you need. We took a taxi to Afitos a few times which is more of an authentic Greek town with great restaurants, shops, etc. In several reviews people mentioned they were bored after few days, but to me this was a perfect relaxing vacation. Coming from US where vacation time is scarce, I could not have asked for a better place to spend my week in Greece.

We stayed at the Country Inn for seven nights with our eighteen year old daughter and our friend, in a double and twin room at opposite corners of the hotel. George greets you off the coach and shows you to your room, then stays mainly in the background, leaving the hospitality to the daytime/evening Barstaff. But if we did have any problems, he was more than happy to help and put things right very quickly. All the staff were very friendly - the cook and cleaner did a wonderful job and even though they did not speak much English, they always had bright smiles to greet you. Fannie & Nico who worked the bar & restaurant were brilliant. They made us feel like friends rather than guests and we were sad when Fannie left two days before we left, as nothing was where it should be (most confusing). The hotel and rooms were kept spotless and the grounds and pool were just the right size for the amount of guests. My only gripe was that the the showers are a tad small and the beds a little firm, but you cannot please everyone with everything and these things are definitely not deal breaking when all else is taken into account.

We found that Kelathea was a bit too commercial for our taste, but was handy for the shops if you needed supplies. Afitos was much more traditional, with lots of little shops and some good restaurants. Our favourite was Tomato & Pepper, which served lovely traditional Greek food and was good value for money (63 € for four people with starters, mains & drinks).

Over all we found the Country Inn to be a little oasis of calm and would definitely go back some day.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms may be a little quieter, but both a good view, either the sea through the trees o...
