What a great little hotel this is - as many others have said, it's perfect for a very relaxing break. Came back today from a lovely week. It was so quiet and peaceful around the very pretty pool area. The grounds/pool/café area are beautifully maintained, and the staff are friendly but not in any way pushy. There is currently a resident peacock who strolls around the grounds, occasionally providing early wake-up calls, but mostly looking beautiful! Quickest way to the beach is via the rather steep (and a bit hairy in places) path, taking you straight down to the most amazing, clear, gently shelving sea - fabulous to swim in. The beach at Kallithea is gorgeous and only 10-15 mins walk away. We did wish we could swap the positions of Kallithea and Afitos - the latter is lovely, but a good bit further away! We walked there several nights and got taxis back (5 euros - well worth it!). We had lunch at the hotel most days and the salads were lovely. Had some very nice meals out in Afitos - the Eteki (?) opposite Tomato & Pepper was excellent, and the views from the restaurants on the "balcony" area in Afitos were fabulous. All in all, for a relaxing, peaceful break it would be hard to beat this hotel.

Room Tip: we were given a 2-bed "apartment" on the lower ground floor - downside of this was it smel...

Great little hotel - wonderfully quiet but within easy walking distance of Kallithea (10 minutes along a quiet tarmac side road) and Afitos (25 minutes in opposite direction on same side road). Hotel spotlessly clean - lovely continental breakfast and good cocktails. Lovely pool, ample sunbeds for everyone and a short (but rather steep) path to the beach. Only minus is the bathrooms - typically Greek!! Highly recommend Taverna Elena in Kallithea - good prices and food and Tomatoes & Peppers Taverna in Afitos. Yellow Bar on the beach (part of the Margarita Hotel) does very reasonable meals although it looks like it might be expensive). Meals not as cheap as we hoped (!) - a bottle of Makedonika Rose (or something that sounds like that!) varied from 10-20 Euros and dinner of bread, two mains and a bottle of said Rose about 33 euro. Fantastically well stocked supermarket in Kallithea.

If you're looking for somewhere to relax and chill by the pool, this is it! We only heard one mobile ringing all week (bliss!). Went with Thomsons and very impressed with everything (flights, booked exit row seats, quick and easy transfer - 1.5 hrs - hotel completely as described - good selection of trips if you wanted and good rep availability). All in all a great week for re-charging the batteries. Finally, having Wi-Fi availability was much appreciated.

Room Tip: 206 - 1st floor overlooking the sea - gets early morning sun.

We booked this holiday to get away from the miserable UK weather and what a surprise the hotel and weather turned out to be. The hotel was one of the cleanest we have stayed at in Greece. The rooms were nice and spacious and a lovely balcony. The gardens were well kept and you could spread out on the grass if you wanted to. It was very friendly and peaceful, no kids when we were there!!!
The weather was much better than expected for May, which added to the overall enjoyment of the holiday.
There was a short steep walk down to the beach from the hotel, if you wanted a rather dare-devil type of route, not too bad if you are fit and able, like we are. Or for the more sedate route follow the road down to the beach front. There, the beach front at the bottom of the hill is really good and the water as clear as any pool we have been to.
You can take a nice walk to Afitos, about 20-25 minutes, or a cab will cost you about €5.
We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends, and we hope to go back again.

What a lovely place. So laid back and relaxed, it was exactly what we needed. Superb setting, fringing on a tree line overlooking the sea and the neighbouring peninsular. Rooms always spotless, grounds spotless and well maintained. The food was tasty and the beer was cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Kalithea town just 5 minutes walk down the road for all essentials. Further afield was Afitos town, about 30 minutes walk. That was stunning. Very old Greek village with cliff top views over the sea. Lovely to have a meal and enjoy the vista. Be wary that a few restaurants and shops only take cash in Kalithea. Only negative was that the shower in the hotel was a bit small, picking up dropped soap was fun and games. Would thoroughly recommend. If you want nightlife till the early hours, try another resort. This is for chilling!!

Late review - we traveled in May 2007 for our Honey moon, I would imagine that a lot would have changed since then.

My husband and i wanted a holiday that we coudl enjoy doing not much during the day and then go out to lovely resturamnts at night - which there were lots off.

The rooms were a really good size and very clean. The bar staff were very friendy and would keep the bar open for longer than normal, yes there is no entertainment but we dont like that, go to a big hotel if thats what you are after.

The main part of the holiday was to visit the area and go on exursions set up by the rep and if you are after a litle adventure there was lots to do. The best trip was the one to the mountains, with lovely red wine and boar for lunch.

The time we stayed we had lovley comapny and made lots of friends. I would go back again, but there is so much of the world to see.

My partner and I stayed at the Country Inn in September 2012 and after reading all of the reviews on trip advisor felt confident that we had booked in an ideal hotel and location. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the hotel and Kallithea and felt that a lot of the reviews on this site are misleading.

Firstly let me start by mentioning some of the positives. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms are cleaned daily and the pool and bar areas are absolutely spotless. The staffs are also friendly, although we hardly saw George which was surprising after reading so many positive reviews about him. Secondly the location is good, not far from Afitos and very close to Kalithea.

Now for the negatives; the room was very noisy, the walls are so thin we could hear the lady next door snoring (at least we think she was snoring)! We could also tell you that she showered every morning around the same time.

We stayed for 2 weeks and after 1 week was so bored we both wanted to come home. After reading reviews about Afitos being a traditional town and Kalithea being more lively we felt we were in a great location to have the best of both worlds, however this simply isn’t the case. Kalithea is not lively; it is full of quiet cosmopolitan style bars and coffee shops - so if you expect to go here and have a bit of a dance and a great night out you will be very disappointed. Afitos is a beautiful traditional town but is full of restaurants doing the same style of food so after a couple of nights can become boring.

I also need to mention that if you want a quiet night around the hotel bar then that is exactly what you will get , a very, very quiet night – no music nothing! We are both in our late 20s early 30s and must stress we are not after an 18 – 30s boozy break, all we wanted was a bit of atmosphere. This place is suitable for a certain age group of older people (sorry not meaning to be rude). So if you’re like us and want the occasional lively night out whilst you’re on holiday or have children that won’t want to sit around a quiet pool all day then I would look elsewhere.

This is the first time i have written a review on trip advisor but always look on here first for peoples comments about their holidays and it was the positive remarks about this hotel that made me book this holiday and I'm so glad I did. This was one of the best holidays we have had for the location, stunning views from the hotel, its cleanliness and friendliness of all the staff, its one of the few holidays that i cried on the day of leaving. A big thank-you to all the staff - will highly recommend to friends and family. Food at hotel was very good and home made chips were divine.

Room Tip: we had a 2 bedroom accommodation which on ground floor overlooking trees/ sea at back which was very...
