“Peaceful paradise with roses and peacocks”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

it was a nice trip to Greec, the staff was friendly and people here r nice. The room was clean and they changed towels every day. There is a free internet access in the lobby ( Wi Fi) and in comparison to 4 stars hotels nearby ( where internet costs 5 euros per hour). The garden is big and there are lots of peacocks and roses there. The only thing we didn't like was a little noisy sometimes, but anyway it was fine. The food is not very various but still it was enough for people who travels not for food ( fruits, vegetables, meat, cereals, sweets every day). It was good value for money

Dear visitors and tourists! I stayed at the Macedonian Sun hotel in August 2011 and I can say that this was perhaps the worst place I have ever stayed at! Even though I liked the location, the environment, the food and the room, still I am not going to that place anymore.
The management of the hotel MUST WATCH the way the stuff behave to visitors! It looks like all male people working there (especially at the restaurant!) are trying to catch girls who stay at that hotel and have fun with them! And moreover, the stuff steal visitors' personal belongings like clothes etc! Two pieces of my clothes were stolen! I am never going to that hotel anymore.

We stayed at the Macedonian Sun in June 2008... It's a nice hotel, well organized with a large courtyard delimited by bungalows on two levels... nice pool, the grass, the flowers were in very good shape... an some peacocks walking free !!! really nice considering the price (if you go there in may-june its ok, otherwise too expensive for the offer).
The rooms were clean (you had to fight with the cleaning-women, they were cleaning every day), in good shape for a 3* hotel (if you want luxury go for a higher rated place), we were not afraid to sleep there or use the bathroom.
But, watch out for the food... mostly the same vegetable salads, rather not fresh... not so much variety in the cooker's mind... and a small bottle of coke (0.25ml) costs 2 Euro.

The place is situated in the second line, near the road (watch for the kids, for the traffic is quite intense sometimes) and you have to walk 5 min to the beach (there are 2 large 5* hotels, of the same owner as Macedonian, on the beach and here you go for sun and water)...
we didn't have to pay for the sunbeds and we also went there in the evening for the shows, quite ok !!!
In the water you may have to use water shoes, because of the stony beach and of the many hedgehogs you will find.

Don't miss the "taverna"'s... the greek pub, with good, fresh food and wonderful people...

It was by far the dirtiest hotel i have ever seen. Our bathroom was not desinfected (the WC was not clean), dust was everywhere, and dead insectes were in the room. I asked twice the receptionist to clean the romm, but in vain. Nobody was interested in solving our problems. (we had 4 rooms reserved, all were in the same bad conditions, we only stayed for 2 terrible nights). Dont`t go there, ever, you risk to have bad surprises.

I went with one of my friends to Kalithea, Halkidiki. The hotel is a 3*.
First: the hotel is not exactly in the Kalithea resort, is at aproxymatly 1 km (20min walk);
2nd: is more...like a bungalow, with a lot of trees..looks like a parc (and there were also 4 peacoks). Has an outside pool (clean), the hotel is clean, not very noisy but the personnel doesn't know very well english (or other languages except greek). In the room you have air condioner, TV, frige.
3rd: the food was simple, the menu was almost the same every day (but there were waiters wich knew english, german...romanian)
4th: very importan! bring something fot the mosquitos, they will kill you!!
In the area of this hotel there are other 2 hotels (Athos Palace and Pelinni = both 4 *) and another of 5*. Except of these 4 hotels, in the area you can find only 1 pizza restaurant and a self service restaurant (on te beach). Except for these 2 - you don't have anywhere else to eat (you have to go to Kalithea - the bus comes every 1 1/2 hour = 1 euro). They open at 1.30 pm and close at 16pm, and open again at 18 pm.
Night life: the are 2 bars/clus (recommend Bubbles - no entry fee, great DJs), a club - Stigma (didn't like, mostly greek music), a bowling club, and a night club.
If you stay at one of the hotels mentioned above...the clubs area is very close - 10 min, but if you stay in Kalithea - you have to have a car (is too dark too come on foot ...but hey...if you are a large group...).
...the area , the hotel...is more for families then yougn people
