We chose Varres hotel because we wanted a quiet, clean, nice location close to town, from where we could drive to various destinations on the island.

We got what we wanted and more for a good price. In fact, the hotel grounds where so scenic and pleasent, that we ended up spending a lot of time at the hotel.

We stayed 4 nights in 2 x double rooms overlooking the swimming pool in the newer block. We were a family of 5 and we were able to share the balcony. Rooms were large and the double beds were 'king size'! Bathrooms a bit small but adequate with just a shower, basin and toilet. All very clean and rooms cleaned daily. You will need a car but it is in a beautiful setting and very quiet. Pool reasonable size and clean. There were a few wasps around the pool but did not spoil swimming. Small bar at pool with bar food simple and cheap. Breakfast was self-service and plenty of choice very reasonably priced as included in cost of room. We paid for 5 for 4 nights with breakfast 420€ during high season

The hotel is located among olive and pine trees. It is a 5 minutes drive from Zakinthos town center. Its location is about on the center of the island, and the distances for beaches and places are near, also by car. 2 kind of swimming pools are available. One for adults and one for kid's pleasure. There is a bar next to swimming pool and the friendly stuff will serve you anything you like. Coffee, snack, food, beverages, ice-cream.
The stuff in general is very helpful and friendly. The hotel has 2 buildings. We stayed on the new building of the hotel, which is next to the pool. The hotel, also, provides a small playground where the kids can have some fun.
The breakfast has quite good variety. The restaurant that serves the breakfast is located on the 1st floor and nice view while taking your breakfast, pleases you.
The dishes of the restaurant are good enough fulfilling the standard.
Our room was very spacy well equipped with all comforts. Hot water available all the times. The room was cleaned and settled every day.
A free parking , tree shadowed, was also provided to all customers.
I have visited Zakinthos island many times, it is a best value for money hotel, that I will sure prefer it again on my next visit to island.

Room Tip: Hotel has 2 buildings. We stayed on the newer building, by the pool.

Perfectly located less than 10 minutes drive from the center of Zante, easy to find, surrounded by olive oil trees, Varres Hotel 3* is a true gem. Real value for money choice.
Clean, well decorated, airy, sunny, quiet rooms with all of the amenities (bathroom, closet, fritz, TV, linen, towels, desk, *balcony).
Sufficient breakfast (eggs, marmalade, coffee, juice, fresh fruits, croissants) can give you enough energy until your lunch. You can order and have it right by the pool. Great cuisine, normal prices.
The nearby roads are hub for the near beaches (approx. 10' - 20' drive).

Moved to this hotel after a disappointing experience at a villa on the island.

From the moment of booking the staff could not have been more helpful and the level of friendliness/helpfulness continued throughout our stay. The price was attractive and for what you got was incredibly good value.

Stayed in the newer accommodation with balcony overlooking the pool. The room was very large, spotlessly clean and contained a small fridge, safe and flat screen tv. The bathroom was immaculate. The pool was well maintained although clearly cold at this time of the year. The rest of the hotel was also very clean.

Beds were quite firm but rooms had air conditioning if hot and good quality warm blankets if requiring them on a colder night.

Breakfast was good consisting of hot items such as omelette, bacon and mini frankfurters and cold meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs etc. There were also cereals and a selection of breads, cakes and pastries with the delicious greek honey and jams etc. A small selection of dishes were available for lunch and in the evening and although basic were tasty and reasonably priced.

Drinks at the bar were priced competitively and with choice.

Location was good in a quiet pleasant location with nice scenic views. A 15 minute walk into Zante town was achieved via a mainly pavemented road however requiring some care on parts of the road which did not have the reassurance of a pavement.

Staff were always very attentive.

We realy enjoyed our time there and would be more than happy to stay there again.

Came to Zakynthos for a romantic Easter getaway and chose this hotel based on the positive reviews and photos on several travel sites. The place was in a nice location away from but close to Zakynthos town so a car is a must. The best things I can say about the hotel is that it was clean...and the family running it were very friendly. Our room was large and overlooked the pool. The hallways smelled like fresh paint and were also nice and clean. However, the room was freezing cold! We had the heat on through the A/C and it didn't do anything. (Note it was warm outside - 22 degrees Celsius) The first night we frooooooze! Plus the bed was not comfortable (or warm) at all and we both woke up at 7 am with back pain and groggy from lack of sleep. We considered moving hotels but ended up asking for more blankets and sticking it out instead. Water pressure also not great but otherwise bathroom was clean. Probably a much different experience in Summer....
