“Lovely Spiros!!”
Reviewed June 7, 2012 via mobile

My girlfriend and I visited here last year end of June early July. The apartment was basic but nice for what you pay and pretty spacious for what we have had in Greece in previous years. One thing I will say is that George and Leah were brilliant. Lovely lovely people! Did all they could to help whenever they could and on many occasions gave us free drinks at the bar or didn't charge us wha they should :) Also the cleaning lady was the happiest person we've ever met! She was great! So happy bless her. Made our day seeing her! The food was also great at the apartments. The best thing tho was that you got a free fan in the room and also free safe down in the bar area. Usually you pay so much extra for these things so we were so grateful we had the included. Leah and George hold the safe keys which some pol may not like but after the first day you get over it and realise all will be fine! Pool was lovely. Not as quite as it looks at first as cars do stream past the road next to the apartments quite a bit but that didn't bother me personally. Sidari itself is a lovely resort. We didn't think so at first...we thought it was small compared to Tsilivi and Tingaki but we made one small error which we didn't realise until day 3...we thought all the restaurants and tavernas were a bit small and didn't look very nice...what we didn't see was they on the town side they were mainly bars but if you go in and walk through they are two sided and the second half of most of them open up onto the beach! If you look at them from the beach you will see lovely restaurants and have amazing sunsets to watch as you eat! It's a bargain two for one as most are great places to eat that turn into trendy bars in th evening. After out two weeks we agreed this was the best Greek resort we had been to (and we have been to about 6 or more between us!). Overall a great holiday, great food, great weather, great prices and great apartments with lovely people. Recommend thoroughly!!! :)

Had a fab holiday in Sidari Spiros apartments with Leah and George, the hotel grounds and rooms very clean, food was excellent and the staff brill, the cleaner works very hard and they keep a very nice family run apartments. Would definatley return to the resort and same hotel. Cannot say anything bad about the place as we will be going back at some point next year hopefully my daughter will come with us the next time and meet the George and Leah and the children..

Room Tip: All rooms look nice although we was in a bunglow at the back of the complex.

After having the worst year ever my wife and I needed to get away to spend time together so we looked for a cheap holiday.

What a bargain we got these have to be one of the best apartments we have been to in Greece.
On arrival George was waiting to show us to our rooms this was about 2.30am.

The pool area was, as was the rest of the apartments spotless this is due to the hard work of the lovley cleaner.

George and Leah are the most freindly and charming hosts you can find and Geogre always has a smile on his face even at the early hours of the morning.

Leah your spag bol was one of the tastiest I have ever tasted.

One reviewer previous complained about the noise from a dog and chickens, the dog only barked at night and only when people walked pass as the dog was in the garden of a privately owned house it was only doing its job, and the chickens owned by the same person and was in the same garden i only heard when I was feeding them bread.

What else can I say except thank you for making our week enjoyable calm and stress free.

We will definately see you again next year.

Room Tip: There is free wi-fi in the bar area so fetch you lap top

Had a brilliant time at the Spiros appartments. George and Leah made everyone so welcome. We arrived at 11.30 at night and it was no trouble for her to cook us a meal which you certainly would not get anywhere else. It was like a family all the people there were lovely and made friends with really nice people. Found Sadari
excellent value for money - meals and drinks so cheap. cant wait to
go back!!!

I'm not sure i understand the bad reviews that these apartments have got, we were dubious about going because it was quite cheap and a couple of people on here had said not so great stuff about it. But we couldn't have been happier, the apartment was basic but clean (don't think the maid came every day but at least 3 or 4 times a week which is fine), if you're the type of person that can't stand a bit of damp on a wall or a shower that leaks onto the floor or a chip on the window frames then this isn't for you. It's well maintained but is starting to look a little tired in places but that's only to be expected the amount they get used. But who cares, unless you plan on spending your entire holiday in your room then I can't see why you would complain about this! George and Leah who run the place are two of the loveliest people we have ever met, so friendly and happy to help, rounding down your bar bill instead of up which is always appreciated! George didn't particularly introduce himself or stay for a chat or show us around when we arrived but it was 5am, again what people expect i'm not sure!
The pool and bar areas are lovely and clean, menu pretty good for lunches although we didn't eat there for dinner, prefer to go out but that's just us. Plenty of people did eat in for dinner and said it was lovely. There are cockrels and a dog next door but to be honest they're really not that bad. The dog made us jump out of our skin the first night as we didn't know it was there but most nights it was quiet as a mouse. We slept soundly every single night.
Location wise, the apartments are probably a 20 minute walk away from main Sidari (only 10 minutes from the start of the resort with plenty of tavernas etc but they're all on a main road so not quite the idyllic greek location). The road isn't a busy one i wouldn't say, you do get people going quite fast because it's like an english country lane. We always felt safe and the roads are well lit. Just towards the top of the road is a taverna called Bavias which is lovely, really good portions and tasted better than any other food we had. At the top of the road is the main road into Sidari, that is quite busy and not the nicest most picturesque walk you will ever have but it's fine. You can get a taxi from Spiros for 5 to 10 euros each way if you don't fancy the walk (beware the minimum charge for taxis is 5 euros so even if you're only going 2 minutes up the road it will still be that). On seeing the first sign that points to the right and says 'beach' i would suggest going down there and round to the right - there's a lovely little restaurant on the corner called Dorotheas but it's right next to a bar pumping out rubbish clubby music which kind of drowns out the greek music from the taverna. Keep going round to the right though and there's a few nice little tavernas with sea views. Otherwise ignore the first sign saying beach and walk straight into the pedestrianised street ahead and amongst the bars and souvenir shops there will be on the right some fairly innocuous looking hotels and restaurants from the outside but once you go in most of them lead directly out onto the beach and have lovely views of the sunset. We only tried the Greek Village near the taxi rank which was lovely but others we met tried Memories and said that was good to. I'm sure they're all fine though!
Negatives are Sidari itself is a bit of a Britland but not as bad as we thought it would be to be honest. It's not a particularly picturesque beach and in fact we didn't go there once during the day after seeing it at night but each to their own. Wouldn't recommend a restaurant called Oasis which is on the main road as you walk into Sidari, a lot of people have been poorly after eating there, myself included!
Hope that gives you an idea of what to expect, basic but clean and friendly and perfect for a fly and flop!

Room Tip: If you have young children, ask for a room away from the bar as can get quite noisy.

We are a family of four and wanted a 2 bed apartment with a nice pool. What we got so sooo much more. George and Lia were 2 of the nicest most hard working people I have ever met. They made us feel most welcome and could not do enough for us. The rooms are more than decent for Greece, large with plenty of storage. The kitchen etc etc all fine - basic but what do you expect??? The pool was the cleanest I have ever seen (I have been all over Greece) and the bar served food whenever you wanted it. They had daily evening entertainment which we all found good fun and the greek night was brilliant. Our bous (9 and 8 had a truly brilliant time and made lots of friends. All in all a great time was had and we will definitely be coming back. Don't believe the couple of negative comments i have read - they must have been staying somewhere else.

Room Tip: Room over pool was fab
