“Double Wow!!!”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Eating at Taverna Roumeli is a must for anybody visiting Nissaki, or the surrounding area of the North West of Corfu. In fact, I would say it is worth going out of your way of you're going anywhere on Corfu. I had read about this fantastic Taverna on Trip Advisor, and even though it was about a 20 minute uphill walk from our hotel it was definitely worth it. We went on a Wednesday on which the spit-roasted suckling pig is offered as a special alongside the full menu. As a carnivore, I was always going to have the suckling pig and boy was it tasty. As we'd had a big lunch before our fist visit we didn't have starters, but we did on our return. On our second visit I had the local sausages to start, which were a pork and beef sausages with a special spice mix. I followed this by a T-Bone steak with the nicest (and firiest!) pepper sauce I have ever had. With Anna being a fantastic hostess, coupled with fantastic rustic local specialities, this makes a recipe for success. I am sad we didn't find this Taverna sooner, but thanks to Trip Advisor we did, and we will definitely go back when we're in Corfu next time. Well done Anna and Vangelis.

“Serendipitous discovery”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We were just out for a walk along the coast from Nisaki to see how far we could get from the tavernas on the beach to the Nisaki Hotel (because we knew the beach there. Anyway, it was hot and it seemed to be taking a long time so we climbed up to the main road and happened into Roumeli's at about 1pm. It was quiet and it was just the "boss" there with one other family for whom he was cooking. We just wanted a light "meze" and he put together some dishes for us like stuffed baked peppers and green beans in tomato sauce and stuffed vine leaves (a favourite of mine) plus a number of other platters, which just hit the spot. Sorry we couldn't have gone back in the evening for his Greek night. His cold, draft Mythos for me was a complete life-saver!

“A variety of delicious traditional greek dishes served with a smile!”

Roumelli is one of our favourite restaurants in Corfu. Vangelus and his wife Anna go out of their way to ensure that you will enjoy ,not only their wonderful food, but also the whole experience. Anna's home made bread is hard to beat!

“Roumeli Nisaki Corfu revisited.”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

just to say I revisited the Roumeli Taverna again in June, as I passed along the coast road from Corfu town. I stopped for some lunch and found it was just delightful again. Best homemade food to recharge the wary soul. Would suggest a stop if you find yourself on the coast road going towards Nisaki village.

“A good Corfiot Grill”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Just outside Nissaki heading north on the seaward side of the road you will find Roumeli's. We have been there several times over the last 12 months and have never been let down. Vangelis decided to stay open over much of the winter and made us most welcome. Have found that if you tell Vangelis what you don't like and leave the meal to him, you will often get a great meal, often with things you would not normally have ordered. Superb views out over the sea, good food, good host and reasonably priced wine, spirits and beers, what more could you ask for!
