If you ever go to Ioannina (Greece) you have to visit the island inside the lake. It's the only lake island in Europe that is populated.Taste local foods and mostly frog feet!!!!!!Also you should visit the Zagori region and ask for the "kolibithres" place near by Mikro Papigo.Unique.....Enjoy your stay to Ioannina.

“A Jewel”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

This newly rennovated and vastly improved museum is the labour of love of Prof. Kostas Zachos, one of the most dynamic and proactive archaeologists in the country. The museum is beautifully designed, and the didactics lining the walls, along with the maps and labeling make this museum a marvellous teaching tool for young and old alike. Highest recommendations!

“Excellent modern museum”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

A really lovely museum tucked behind the clock tower Ioannina. Well arranged with excellent historical descriptions. Each gallery is In chronological order and display cases are beautifully lit with amazing objects. The Dordona gallery is fantastic with a great wall picture reconstruction of the site as well as amazing votive offerings and lead inscribed questions to the Sacred oak at the sanctuary of Zeus.Really first class museum.Only complaint was in cases with eg. "Cemetery finds from Archaic to Hellenistic period" there were descriptions of the objects but not their estimated date.
