“Great holiday, will come back”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

This was our first time in Parga and we both loved it. The hotel is family run and the two brothers and their staff work incredibly hard to do anything they can to make you stay a great one. The rooms are some of the best we have stayed in in Greece, and the shower was a delight. The restaurant serves some fantastic food and the Greek night is not to be missed. All in all a fantastic holiday made even better by great accommodation and friendly staff, would definitely return.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was very relaxing and peaceful. We had a wonderful view. Freda and Stavros are very proud of heir place, and so they should be. Very pretty with flowers everywhere. Their son's Nikos and Christos are always very helpful, in fact everyone was. All staff very polite and courteous. We ate in the Restaurant 9 nights out of 14, that's how good the food was. The Greek night is great, food fabulous.
If you have walking difficulties you may find it hard, steps everywhere, but if you take your time it's ok. We walked into Parga, steep hill but worthwhile. Also walked to Lichnos beach and Ai Sostis, this was a bit mad though in 30 deg heat.
Would love to go back yesterday!

We benefited from an amazing deal through Thomsons. At the last minute we asked for a room with balcony and see view and got both - the balcony was excellent and the room was absolutely fine. I have read other reviews complaining about thin walls and the position of the shower and quality of mattresses. This strikes me as very unfair - the build quality is fine - if you get noisy neighbours well that it the price you pay - if you want all the luxurious trimmings you need to pay loads more money which might (just might) exclude the riff raff - this hotel is lovely - the chaps who run it Cristos and Nickos are great - the staff (Alex and the blonde lady in their beachfront bar - to mention only 2) were also lovely - how hard it must be to keep up the constant smile at the Brits attempt at kalinicta. kalispero, afharris toe et al - the positioning on the Valtos side of town is brilliant - the beach is fabulous - great walks to Ali Pachas castle - great cycling (you can hire bikes in the town) - great restaurants - great opportunities for people watching - lovely bar at the castle - you really could not expect much more from a holiday hotel and location - beware though the walk into town requires an ability to walk up and down hills (steep ones) - We are 60ish and we were okay but we are a bit boring like that - enjoy and thank you

My wife and I stayed here for a week in early May last year. It was the week before the sunbeds all came out and we had the whole beach practically to ourselves. The hotel is family run and situated 50 yards back from the beach. The owners were great and let us keep our rooms when the ash cloud problem grounded our flight. They also put on a fabulous Greek night, where 3 generations of the family were up dancing.
The beach is truly amazing (moon shaped) and has a castle and religious ruin on either end. You can also walk along the beach towards the castle and it'll take you up and into the town centre, which is very family orientated...lots of gift shops and nice tavernas. The only downside is how expensive Greece has become, so do look out for the cheaper restaurants (just as good, if not better) just off the main harbour front, for example, when you walk up towards the castle from the hotel, turn left before going down the hill and there are few gems just hidden away there.
All in all, we loved the hotel and it's location. Will definately be going back.

We stayed at Gogozotos Appartments and enjoyed everything from the location, the inhouse air conditioning, kitchen and balcony even the private parking area. The owners are very friendly and the cleaning service nice for the price of the appartment.

Never having stayed in the Parga area before, my Husband & I were looking forward to our two weeks stay at the Valtos Beach. First impressions were good. We arrived late, and the staff carried our suitcases up lots of steps, and the restaurant stayed open if we hurried up and ordered as soon as possible,
However, I was very disappointed with our original room. It was small and pokey, the beds were as hard as nails, and the 'shower' was an attachment to the wall equivalent to the height of your waist. The bedspreads were tired, and there was a big gap betwen the mattress and the headboard, where the pillow liked to fall into at night. By far the worst thing was the noise - it was unbelievable. The walls were paper thin. You could hear everything - a couple having a row - another having sex - kids squealing, etc. Above us were a group of senior Swedish men who did nothing but yap and scrap their chairs around until 3.00 a.m. Even ear plugs and a pillow over my head made no difference. After three nights with hardly any sleep, we managed to upgrade to a more luxurious room - at a price. The Manager did not like us complaining one little bit, and felt like we were doing him a big favour, even though we were paying an additional 30euros per night for the pleasure.
Breakfast was self serve catering, with lots of freshly prepared eggs, tomatoes, ham, cheeses, fruits, cereals, etc. However, depending on what time you ate, it varied from quiet to a rugby scrum, with people pushing past and over reaching you, which I suppose is not the Hotel's fault.
The pool area is very small, and becomes very cramped very quickly. Peaceful and quiet it ain't. Thankfully, it's not our cup of tea. But be warned, if you use the Hotel beds on the beach, they know what to charge.
Stavros, the Hotel restaurant, has an excellent chef who cooked some of the best meals we had in Parga. But there is a large Sky Sports TV screen, so you may have to put up with certain people (who never seemed to venture beyound the hotel bar) shouting and swearing if their football team is losing after drinking too much lager.
There are free computers to use, which were hogged by noisy, unruly kids whilst said parents hung around nearby bar drinking.
The saving grace came in the form of a hired car, which meant we could explore the whole region, from the mountainous interior to deserted coves and beaches. It is well worth investing in a car. Valtos beach resembled loads of sausages on a grill, slowly turning over to brown the other side. It was so crowded you could not fit a thong in between some people. Other places worth visiting are the ancient sites of Nikopolis and Necropolis, walking through the chalky blue river styx, a boat trip to the breathtaking Paxos and Antipaxos, or another boat trip to Corfu town. There is nothing in Valtos itself and is unsuitable for those with walking difficulties. You have to walk up a steep hill and then down again to reach Parga, with loads of tavernas, shops, etc. From what I saw, the rooms at Valtos Beach were situated up a lot of steps.
Our rep Miss Rees was very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and a credit to Thomsons.

We were planning to stay at this hotel having read all the reviews(booked hotel in August thro' Thomson) , but have to say have been left extremely disappointed by the hotel closing before the end of season. We have been informed with less than 2 weeks before our departure with no explanation given.
Persons looking to book this hotel should bear this is mind.
You have been warned!!
