We stayed at Stephanos, this year in May 2012. The accomadation we had was an upper floor studio at the back of the building. It was on the small side but well equiped with double bed, oven , kettle. fridge, and sandwich maker. The owner ,Lena speaks very little english but her brother owns the supermarket opposite and is the most helpfull man you will ever meet.About 10 minute walk to Valtos beach and 30 minute walk to Parga but water taxi and car taxi available . The cost of car taxi was 6 euros and sunbeds + umbella was 5 euros. The only downside for us was we went the first 2 weeks of the season and there was not much open in Valtos so we had to go into Parga for a choice of restraunts, but a small price to pay. All in all a cracking holiday and would reccomend this accomadation for anyone requireing a quiet relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are quieter , and cooler

We arrived at Stefanos studios on a beautiful sunny afternoon to find a nice block of studios opposite a small supermarket, just up a back road from Valtos beach. First impressions were, basic but very clean, which to us was fine. We had a upper studio with a small balcony, 2 single beds, small bathroom (with shower curtain!) and a very well equipped kitchen, that even had a grill and a sandwich toaster. Aircon available at a cost of 7 euros per day. It seemed idyllic, very peaceful and relaxed. We were so wrong as the very next morning as we were enjoying our slumber we were rudely awakened by a delivery van to the supermarket, that seemed to think it was midday rather than 6.00am! After a while it finished unloading and went on to the next drop off. Not long after that just as we were returning to the land of nod, another delivery van arrived and we went through it all again. Unfortunately this wasn't a one off delivery day, it happened most days. When we wasn't woken by the vans it was generally by the noise the little supermarket created, ie early morning chit chat. So we had to close the doors fully, not just the shutters, and purchase the air con. If you're an early riser please don't be put off by this as this was the only thing that bothered us. The Stefanos are very nice people, and the supermarket owner Nicolau was such a lovely man and very helpful.

Valtos comes to a close once the sun goes down in the evening, so you can either walk up to the castle and over into town or get the water taxi across. It is a bit of a trek if you walk, and I had had enough of the walk by the end of the 2 weeks. I have stayed in both areas Parga town and Valtos and if I were to holiday in Parga again I would certainly stay in town.

Favourite beach is Sarakiniko, which has a couple of lovely tavernas, Tou Christo is one and the other is at the top of all those steps at the end of the beach (can't remember the name). Ammoudia beach was very nice too, not many people there and very shallow for a long way out.

Boat trip to Paxos was a lovely day out, although never saw dolphins, many people had on previous trips!!

Too many tavernas to mention them all, all very good quality, Maistros was a firm favourite, lovely setting, lovely food and very generous portions at a good price. Perivoli excellent and 5 senses was beautiful.

Parga is a wonderful place, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Choose a room around the back of the property for less noise

We thought that the location was great the accomodation was excellent and as far as holidays go it's way up at the top of our list of the best. Take my humble advice, on your first evening walk up to the top of the steep hill, when at the top bear left, this takes you past the "Romantica" restaurant, keep walking up the hill till you come to a bar called
"The Pallatino", go upstairs and have a nice ouzo on the balcony, the views are absolutely breath taking. When you can drag yourself away from the view, make your way back down to "Sakkis Taverna" where Mr Sakkis and his son Van Gellis will make you very welcome and prepare you a traditional Greek dinner that you will never forget.
