Symi is a heaven on earth and this year we discovers the windmill which belongs on this wonderful island.
Super cute setting under a windmill on a hillside of Symi, away from the bustling harbour the atmosphere is quiet, relaxed and romantic.
The water was friendly and really helpful, the plates are small ( but not that small) mezze sharing plates, the food comes out as its ready and so you can mix it up and leisurely graze.
The food was incredible, especially the red beef, Moroccan lamb and pork with apples and Metaxa, I fact the list could go on to cover the whole menus as it was all sublime.
Wish we could go there for dinner all the time, shame we live in the UK! Though we did go twice in one week whilst on holiday.
Worth the walk up the "good steps"

I love the Windmill.
It is such a cozy place in the village (Rhoiro) and Rhiannon is a great chef.
The food is not the typical Greek taverna food that sometimes can be a bit tasteless, however the dishes are rich with flavour.

It is hard to decide upon my favorites, but to point out a few, try the avocado hummos, the Mylos salad, the beetroot feta salad and the Marrocian lamb.

The location is very romantic and the service always very friendly.

It was definitely worth the climb up the steps from the port of Symi to the village of Chorio to experience a wonderful supper at The Windmill. Excellent service, very friendly with time to talk you through the menu describing not only the ingredients but how they are prepared and cooked. The giant white beans are delicious, unfortunately I can't find the same size beans at home so will have to do with smaller ones. The food is beautifully cooked and presented. No rush here to get you served, cleared and gone, take your time and enjoy. The house wine is very palatable and the complimentary Masticha aided the stroll back down the steps at the end of a very enjoyable evening's dinner. Quality food at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for an excellent evening.

We have been visiting the Windmill for a few years now and it just gets better and better.

It is such a lovely setting and Rhianna and Michaelis are the perfect hosts.

The food is wonderful and varied, which makes a nice change from some of the standard Greek fare available in other restaurants.

There are some wonderful dishes on the menu including a Moroccan lamb, pork with paprika, pork with apple and Metaxa, prawns in a sublime sauce and amazing chickpea dish. All are very reasonable priced and delicious.

We will be back!
