We visited Rhodes old town three times during our recent holiday in Kolymbia and discovered this restaurant quite by chance, having wandered just off the Sokratous main street. There is a pretty terrace and garden, with trees offering welcome shade, looking out onto some of the old town's ancient ruins. Inside there is a large downstairs restaurant and upstairs has some pretty rooms beautifully arranged to cater for small private dinner parties. The waiters didn't hassle us to come in as was the case in all the other restaurants we passed. During our first couple of lunchtime visits, we ate lovely salads with local wine followed by delicious home made ice creams and coffees. The waiters were friendly and efficient and our meals were good and very reasonably priced, so we decided to return a third time with some friends for an evening meal which turned out to be a disaster! The terrace and garden were very busy and the indoor restaurant was full. The waiters were rushed off their feet. Our cold salad starters were good but the meat in three of our four main course meals was partially raw and had to be sent back to be properly cooked (which took ages) and our coffees were stone cold. The waiters were apologetic but it was very disappointing and we wished we had eaten elsewhere. Such a shame as it really is such a pretty place.
