“very friendly staff, good location”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

Stayed 3 nights with family. Manos at the reception was very helpful and friendly. Hotel is at a very good location close to beaches and nice restaurants and 10 mins walking to nightlife. Rooms are basic but clean. The view of the marina is great. Had a rich breakfast buffet. Rooms can use some renovation but overall we were very happy

We booked with Thomas Cook - very easy flight and transfer and good value for money.

The bus stopped at several other hotels, miles away from Kos Town, I'm so glad I didn't stay out of town! Kos town is beautiful, and the setting of the Kosta Palace could not be better!
It sits on the very corner of the harbour, overlooking the beautiful castle and all the super-yachts!
It's a family town, no drunken clubbers at all, even in the height of August!
The resort is mainly populated by good looking Dutch families, who are all civilised and behaved on holiday unlike the brits!
The Hotel staff were EXCEPTIONALLY NICE! (And helpful!)
The family room was huge, with two decent singles (working well as a double in one room and two single in the main room for our son. a decent kitchen area, nice balcony and an old but nice bathroom.
The Air conditioners didn't work incredibly well (It took a while to discover the trick, close all the windows with sensors to get the air-con to switch on!) they did however lower the room temperature at night below the outside 28 degrees!
The beds were comfortable, and the room staff very efficient.
There was a slight "cat" smell wafting about the air-con, but I'd really give the rooms a decent thumbs up! Remember this is Greece, and not five stars!
The Breakfast buffet was good, and pretty varied.
There's a small pool on the roof, but we used the local beach much more often. it was a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the spot we liked, however you could be on the beach in 3 minutes if you wanted!
We ate out every night and paid 30-40 euros for big meals with alcohol-3 people.. (20 for snack lunches)
The Old River beach and Restaurant run by Joseph is a legend! (Ten minutes’ walk from the hotel to the town beach) we went there every other day. (Free sun loungers if you have lunch in the restaurant, and buy the occasional drink from them – no hassle just nice fun people)
De Haven on the main port road severed the best dinners.
The Olympiada was the best value for money eating.
The castle in the harbour was worth a stroll round, even just for its evening views
We took a car to Paradise beach in the south, and came back via Zia for sunset. its very touristy, but very beautiful too.
Kos every time! Kosta Palace is good value for money. I loved it!

We stayed for two weeks late July/early August.
The hotel's location is great and staff i friendly. Clean rooms.

Except for poor A/C, which made the rooms rather warm, and hard beds, our stay was quite good.

There were 18 of us from the age of 22 up to 62. We all loved staying at the Kosta palace. The marina out the front and the beach on the left of hotel. Restaurant, bars and shops all close by. Boat and day trips all available and at reasonable prices. Staff at Kosta were very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend this holiday.

This is a nice hotel with a fantastic spot on the harbourside. Sitting on the terrace at breakfast we watched the genuine fishermen selling their fish and sorting their nets. The day trip boats go out each morning at 10am ish and are a lovely sight, there is always something to watch.
The road is fairly busy but it's mostly bicycles and mopeds. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice and was always kept topped up.
The hotel is clean and smart, the room was a good size with a small kitchen section which comprised a sink, a 2 ring hob and a full sized fridge. The air con temperature was centrally controlled and could have been a degree or so cooler as it wasn't terribly effective but better than nothing. We had a few issues with noise from other (younger) residents at night slamming doors and talking very loudly but the reception staff were very helpful and the hotel did have security people on duty at night and were quick to sort out any problems.
The reception staff deserve a special mention as they were always so attentive and friendly.
Our room was at the side of the hotel but still had a view of the harbour entrance and the sea in the other direction. It was also nice that it was not on the sunny side in the afternoons as it meant we could sit out on the balcony in the early evening in comfort.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: For the best view a room at the front. For morning sun and afternoon shade the right hand side (look...

Hotel well appointed. Our room was overlooking the harbour which was great to watch the goings on. Bathroom well appointed. The pool and roof terrace nice. Breakfast plentiful. The only thing I was disappointed about was the amount of very young people who had no respect for others, being extremely noisy , loud music / parties in the room. Slamming doors etc. Our Room overlooking the harbour was no. 124 and 122. I would definitely request one on that side. The garden view ones don't look out on anything nice.
