We staid 3 nights in this hotel. It is on the main road of the village, which was very nice. Clouse to the beach and clouse to alot of good restaurangs and shopping. The rooms was nice and very clean. But the beds were super hard and it was so noisy! Every times somebody on the reception said somethink, I heard it exactly. The staff fight allot to eachother, ofthen at 7 o´clock in the morning, so I woke up. In the price breakfast is includet but it was not good at all. The milk was als too old and in the orange juice was more sugar than orange. My boyfriend eat a egg and it tasted so bad that he had to spit it out. Same with the dry fruits, disgusting. Better to stay somewhere else.

We stayed at the Tropical Sol in September 2010, we arrived at the hotel and were greeted warmly, taken to the room and left to our own devices.
The rooms are small by comparison with other hotels we have stayed at in Tingaki and elsewhere, something that you may need to take into consideration, also all of the "facilities" mentioned in reviews / brochures seem to be at an additional charge (Air con / TV / Safe / Fridge) NB this is the only hotel i have ever come across that charges for the use of a fridge! (it cost us an additional €80+ for the A/c, fridge and Safe for one week this is a lot of money when it has to come from your spending money and you are not aware of the charges - we did not use the TV so cannot comment). The bathroom in the room was excellent, well tiled and spotless.
The breakfast was Greek / continental and unfortunately was not the best start to the day, I realise that I'm a "Brit" and we expect more but I have worked in europe and had far better breakfasts, there was a lot of variety but most if which I personally would not eat for breakfast, it was therefore a choice of a bun with a bit of cold meat and cheese or go out and pay extra for breakfast elsewhere - note to hotel a bit of toast maybe some bacon or sausage would go down well.
The Pool area was great, well laid out with a shallow pool for the little ones and a Jacuzzi and was well looked after, the grounds were also well maintained - the sprinkler system is extensive :)
The daytime pool bar is very good and food served exceptional. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the evening bar as we didn’t use it although it must be said that it seemed busy and they on occasion have some form of entertainment..
The staff are pleasant and helpful.
In conclusion I would recommend this hotel to others bearing in mind what I have said above, as to the additional charges I do not blame the hotel, I blame Thomascook for not informing us of them, some charges are understandable in my opinion if a safe is in reception and looked after by the hotel it is a service and as such a charge is acceptable, however if the safe is in your room as in this case and they are only providing a key there should not be a charge, charging for the fridge is in my opinion out of order.
I hope this has been helpful.

Tropical sol is ok hotel in very nice location in Tigaki, nearby you can find lot of restaurants ("Meni" is very recommendable) and the beach of course. Kos town is about 10km away, taxi costs 13euro and bus 2euro.

Hotel itself is ok, with some plusses and minuses:

+ Pool side is cool, drinks at bar are reasonable priced (beer 2,5e)
+ Comfortable lobby
+ Friendly people and service (we came at 9am and got room after breakfast)
+ Clean in general

- Rooms are rather small, we didnt have double bed and wasnt cleaned well when we arrived (lot of dark hair everywhere)
- Air-con cost 8e per day (frigde and tv 4-5e each per day)

+- Breakfast very basic

We stayed at the Tropical Sol Hotel for 2 weeks and loved every single minute we stayed there!

The hotel is kept very clean and most of the staff there are very helpful. We stayed in room 117 and had a wonderful view of the sea over to Turkey and the mountains on Kos. The rooms are a little small, but that is because of the amount of furnishing in there, so there are plenty of places for putting stuff away. We also had a double bed instead of 2 beds pushed together, a TV, hair dryer and a fridge which I thought was a lovely touch. The air condintioning was already included in our price, but we never knew that until almost into our second week, before that we just kept the door open which was good enough. The bathroom has a shower with curtain and a holder for the shower head, another good touch for hotels in Greece. Rooms were cleaned every day with sheets being replaced every third day, no service on a Sunday.

The reception area is nice as reception areas go, there was always someone on call if needed. The pool is lovely, not too deep and we never found it difficult to find some loungers at any time of day. The pool bar serves all types of food and beverages at very reasonable prices.

Over all a fantastic hotel and would reccommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in the height of summer season, so let me go through the good and the bad.

Good --
We arrived @ 3.00 am, and we were the only people on the coach for this hotel, most people seemed fairly scattered. But our welcome was warm by tghe chap that does breakfast, he booked us in and showed us to our room, and how everything worked, so that was a nice start.
Breakfast is basic, fruit, rolls, yogurt, ham, cheese etc. but par for the course and acceptable.
We thought being late arrivals we would be too late for sunbeds, but through our whoile 2 weeks we never struggled to get a sunbed. Most people head for the beach.
The pool is a fair size, with kiddies pool and jakuzzi, and the pool is at max 1.5 mtrs, so our 9 year old was well at home.
Rooms o the small side with 2 adults and 1 child, but we only used it to sleep, so it was ok. Air Con worked fine for the whole stay.
Rooms were cleaned every other day with bins emptied daily.
The hotel is on the 1 main street that runs through Tingaki, in fact the bus stop to get you to Kos is right outside, and only1.9 euros, well worth a trip.
The beach is a 5 minute walk, and when you get there a long stretch.
Tingaki is a nice quaint size with a nice sandy beach, beds @ 3 euros each.

Bad --
I always wonder why you have to pay for safety deposit boxes, but you do, 30 euros for 2 wks.
Prices in the hotel are a little steep, 3 - 3.5 euros for a big beer, but not much different in the rest of Tingaki, although if you look, you can get a beer for 2 euros.
Food is also a little more at the hotel, you can buy much cheaper a stroll away. And they don't like you buying outside and bringing it in even if it is half the price right across the road.
When we go abroad we like a mix of nationalities, and we got that - Greek, Spanish, Italian, Austrian, Dutch, but mostly German, which was fine, but for us we would have liked a handful of English people, especially with our 9 year old sone - he found it hard to communicate with the other children. He hasn't mastered languages yet.

All in all, ok, and we chilled out in 35-40%C for 2 weeks. I t was quite hot, but we like that.
