“Good hotel, good location”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Stayed in this hotel from 21st-29th August. Hotel is a bit dated but didn't really matter as we didn't plan on spending much time there. Had all we needed. Appartments are a good size. We had two outdoor seating areas which was great to use before we headed out. Only downside is that we had a lower floor apartment and didn't feel comfortable leaving the doors open at night so got pretty stuffy. Kitchen had basic stuff but everything u would need for basic cooking. Hotel was lovely and quite. We went as 3 girls aged 21/22 and ended up making friends with a group of boys. Nobody complained about us or the noise. Located close to kos town. Near lovely restaurants. Would recommend El Paso Mexican restaurant but dolphin square. Hotel is very basic but exactly what u need for a holiday if you're never in the room! Only 2 major bad points is the shower didn't have a wall fix so we had to hold it which was annoying and the key has a white 'fob' attached for the electric which cannot be removed. Kind of annoying when it is pitch black.

Room Tip: Try and purchase a studio. They're top floor but can sleep with the doors open and not have to w...

We spent a great week in the Smaragdi Apartments in July. The apartments are well located very near Lambi Beach - this was our main residence for the majority of the week. Cheap bike hire is available down the road (we paid around 30 euros for a week to hire 2 bikes). We always cycled to the city centre, which is lovely with lots of restaurants, bars, marina etc.. Visited archaeological sites with bikes too. Port is 10 mins bike ride, where boat trips leave from (We spent a day shopping in Bodrum - Turkey).
The apartments are well equipped (see attached images). We didn't use the air con, it was a bit hot, but kept the balcony doors open. The music, laughing goes on until midnight, perhaps 1 PM, but don't really understand those who complain about it... you are on holiday... chillax...
Never used the swimming pool, but lot of people loved it and spent most of their times there. Be aware that some guests wake up early in the morning and put their towels on the sunbeds to reserve them, but only come down later on. (Appoint the early riser of you group to put the towels for you in order to benefit from the facility). The room was cleaned daily, towels, bed sheets changed every day. The cleaning lady was very sweet! We had a late flight back (11PM), and managed to book late check out at 25 Euros, so we could keep the room until 7PM. This was very handy, as we gained an extra day to spend and relax at the beach. Can't fault it!

Room Tip: Room 15 is close to the main building, balcony facing the pool. West facing, sun reaches the balcony...

Just returned from Smaragdi Studios, had a fab time. Arrived late and very quickly given details and how to get to the room. Ideal as we arrived at 2am. Room perfectly clean and maintained every day with bed made and floors cleaned. Even when we left a couple of bits in the sink they washed and put them away for us. Pool bar does really good food. Fully recommend the greek scrambled egg with fresh tomato and feta cheese. Its not on the menu but ask and they will make it. Good prices for all food and drink and the bar is open all night. All staff very friendly will stop and have a chat. The Olympic rep ( Hannah ) also lived on the site so was easy to catch if you needed to sort anything. All in all met some great people and enjoyed out time by the pool which again is perfectly clean and maintained every morning. Would fully recommend to anybody thinking of going. Ben & Antonia

Lambi is a nice quiet resort, so if you want some night life you have to go into Kos town. If disabled it is more than 10 or 20 minutes to walk,as my friend and I found out. We at to get a taxi most nights at the cost of 7euros a time. the studios were very clean and we had clean sheets and towels every other day.Staff very friendly, pool area very clean. Had a brill holiday.Mind the front door when patio doors are open ,ours smashed and we at to pay 35 euros.

Room Tip: bedrooms 1-4 have separate bedrooms,

Stayed here for 7 nights. Apartments were spacious. Had an apartment overlooking the pool with a balcony at the front and back of the aparrment. The pool area is lovely and sunbeds were always available. Beds were very comfortable.
Shower was hot but not a walk in shower as it was over the bath. The kitchen area had a mini oven toaster kettle and various cooking utensils. The apartments were cleaned thoroughly every day and sheets and towels were changed daily. All staff at the hotel were very friendly. Telis the reception and barman was lovely along with Aria and Judy. Food at the apartments was ok. Drinks prices were 3 euros 50 for a pint of mythos and 4 euros 30. For a metaxa and lemonade. If your room is available for you to keep on it is at a cost of 25 euros per day up to 19.00 hours. There is s mini market over the road which sells most items you require. A couple of minutes down the road are pushbikes hiring companies. It costs 3 euros per day. Its a great way of getting about in kos as it is very flat and there are cycle lanes all over kos and surrounding areas. Lambi has some nice eating places such as Istros which is at the top of the road from apartments. There is also a beautiful greek taverna on the same road where the food is gorgeous. Lambi beach is 10 mins walk away and very gravelly The number 2 bus runs into kos from top of the road. Taxi to kos costs between 5 and 7 euros. The sister hotel niriides does an excellent greek night on a Tuesday at a cost of 10 euros for each person for 3 Courses with good entertainment including dancing and fire eating.

Superb value for money.

Booked these apartments just a couple of weeks before travelling. We had 2 studios on the first floor for 5 of us. Both studios were an excellent size with 3 full-size beds in each. Lots of utensils etc. in the kitchen. Aircon available at 5 euros a day - we used it in one room which had 3 people in it but didn't bother for ours as a nice breeze blows in all day. The sheets were changed at least every other day and so were the towels, which were nice and fluffy.
The pool is a good size for the size of the hotel and we never had to fight for a sunbed! The bar is reasonably prices, as is the small snack bar offering breakfast and snacks at lunch.
This is a really comfortable place to stay with a lovely, friendly atmosphere and we met many nice people there. The beach is a 10 minute walk down the tree-lined street and Kos Town is about 20 minutes walk if you want somewhere a bit livelier to visit. We hired bikes for a couple of euros a day, which were great for getting around on as the area is totally flat.
Lambi is fairly quite and there's not much to do of an evening once you've enjoyed a lovely meal in one of the many restaurants, but this suited us. A walk into Kos Town is worth it if you want more action at night.
The beach is nice, although the sea gets deep very quickly so it's not suitable for young children really. You can hire a big comfy sunbed for 3 euros or less a day and it's well worth it. You can order food and drinks from your sunbed at reasonable prices and the 'fruit man' comes at least twice a day and is cheap.
Overall, this was a good holiday. We booked late and got an excellent deal. I would definitely go back here for a relaxing break.

Stayed in the smargadi apartments July 2013, excellent value for money, sheets and towels changed everyday, good attentive staff, and good facilities in a great location up a tree lined avenue, yet only a 20 minute walk to the main centre of KOS Town and 5 minutes from the local beaches at Lambi.. Based on what we spent on this holiday I cant find anything to fault with the apartments
