Mikro Parisi is a typical family taverna run by very polite people. We asked them to make a fish soup for us, we are glad for it was very good . They also have their own raki, cold with ice. It was not on the menu, we saw it on an other table. It is the last taverna of the seafront so it is away from the busy parade and have a better view of the port.

We stayed on Megisti for some days and ate at this restuarant half of the time. The food was superb and delivered in good time. The owners and staff were all very friendly and service was very good. Lovely back to basic greek food without all the extra expensive trimmings. Prices were good. Tables settings were altered so that we, as 5 could be seated. We ate on the waterfront and enjoyed the scenery. The father (maybe grandfather) is a fisherman and he also will take you for a trip to the Blue Grotto and around the island in his inflatable boat.

Restaurant Mikro Parisi (Little Paris) is located on the most quiet side of the port and right next to the church. It is a family business, with the grandfather and his son being the fishermen who provide fresh fish every day and the grandmother with the two sisters in law, taking care of the food and the orders. Do not expect the luxury of a gourmet restaurant BUT enjoy the simplicity, the magnificent taste and the generosity in portions. All the food is freshly cooked everyday and depending on the season, you can taste the typical Mediterranean courses, such as mixed vegetables and cooked okra. Off course i enjoyed my fish a lot there, including a splendid Bouillabaisse-type fish soup, since it was so fresh every day and covering a wide price range for all budgets. As with most of the restaurants on the southeastern islands of the Aegean, house wine comes from Crete which is descent for its price but nothing special. The lady of the house, Mrs Eirini, treats almost everyone after dinner with amazing home made Cretan Raki (let's say a variety of Grappa). During my first visit on the island a couple of years ago, i tried most of the restaurants on the harbor, including Mikro Parisi, and having mixed impressions for most of them. During this second visit, i stayed for five nights and spent every night at this restaurant. On high season you really need to reserve a table cause it is packed and you have to be a bit patient on serving times. I highly recommend it as my favorite on Megisti island.
