“Quality for your money”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Nice quiet and clean hotel with a good and very kind staff. The hotel is very close to the city-center and all the restaurants. There is also two supermarkets and car rental nearby. The breakfast is a bit borring in the long run :-) The pool is clean but not suited for children. We can recommend the hotel and it gives good value for your money.

The hotel is placed in a good location. Justt a few minutes away from "city centre" with many restaurants and shops. The beach is about 15 minutes walk. The single rooms are very small, but you get a bed, tv, a small table and bathroom. I could walk directly to the pool from my balcony, so that was perfect. Very kind and friendly staff helped with everything. Breakffast included, but extra charge for egg and bacon etc. Nice stay

If you are going on holiday this hotel will do just fine. It is clean, the service is friendly and it has a great location. But there is really nothing special to rave about.

The breakfast is "included", but that is only the basics. You have to pay extra to get orange juice or to get an omelet.

The only real negative I have to say about Atlantis is that the sound travels extremely easy from room to room. The whole building is a brick building, and there is no sort of soundproofing what so ever. This would not have been a problem as we spent little time in the room, but when your neighbor insists on coming home at 3 AM every day and have a party on their balcony, this soon becomes a problem.

I would not hesitate to book a stay at the Atlantis again.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view out to see. The extra money is really worth it.

After staying at hotel Atlantic every year since 1998 we want to recommend this lovely hotel to other people, who like to try to stay at a hotel with Authentic Greek atmosphere.
The hotel is situated perfect directly to the beach and the city. The rooms are nice and always pefectly clean. The wiev from the balcony to the sea is breathtaking.
The owners of the hotel Yiannis and George are very welcoming and helpful. They make their quests feel at home. They have always time for a chat and good advices about the island.
The rest of the staff Manolis, Gio and the lady's who are cleaning are also very welcoming and helpful, and they have been working there for many years.
Overall a very nice hotel, a good base for living the greek way, when you are on holyday.

Arrival: To begin with, the friendly welcome from John, George and the staff is lovely. They always seem to be able to remember faces and details.
Situation: The hotel borders on to the northern end of Pigadia´s pedestrian street with its varied and interesting shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. An ideal situation in the town – close to the activities and yet quiet and relaxed.
View: The hotel has an excellent sea and harbour view across the bay to the mountains. Our favourite is, without question, the corner rooms ´06 – especially the top one.
Rooms: The room and balcony is quite adequate in size with reasonable furnishing and bedding. On arrival, 6 large bottles of water are already always placed in the room. A/C is in good working order, and a safe is also available. The fridge, however, placed in the cupboard, is a problem – its cooling properties are insufficient, it should probably be replaced. The renovated bathrooms are kept very clean, as is the rest of the room and the hotel itself.
Breakfast: The breakfast supplied is quite simple, but it can be supplemented on payment.
Value for money: We will certainly be returning.

The staff is wonderful. Helps with everything, never any problems.
The rooms were okay, but the beds were terribly uncomfortable.
The location is great, a few minutes, you're in the middle of town.
Perfect if you're looking for a place that is quiet and cozy with good prices for food, etc.

Hotel is nothing special but has clean rooms, balcony and AC with small breakfast included for very good rate (paid 35 euro in September 2010). The owners are very friendly. If you rent a car, this is a good location, as you can drive around half the island in a day and visit most beaches. Town has some decent dining, an ok beach, thats about it for the town.

If you arrive from airport, rent a car ahead of time, generally 25-35 euro/day. There is no bus from the airport, taxi is 20 euro, which is nearly the cost of full day car rental. The rental agency can meet you at airport and will let you leave the car on departing, thus saving additional 20 euro upon departure (ferry schedule is not really a daily thing, so flying from Rhodes or elsewhere makes a lot of sense).

If you are willing to deal with narrow winding mountain roads that test your courage and vertigo, then you will find specacular locations with few tourists(September). If the winds are good, you might even catch some decent waves on the west coast beaches. This island is only going to get more developed as the infrastructure improves, so see it before it becomes too much like everywhere else.
