“a unique place...!”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

If you plan to visit Santorini consider also this option: Take the ferry (i.e. from Pireus) which arrives in Santorini very early in the morning. The experience is breathtaking; the ferry crossing the morning mist, between the dramatic cliffs of Santorini and the smaller Volcano-islands.

If you enjoy busy party-islands, visit Santorini in the summer. It is very lively and touristy. If you prefer to explore the beauty of the island in a less busy time of the year, April - June is the perfect time for you (and still warm enough to swim - especially May - June).

“Part of Thomson cruise”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

We went on the Thomson Majesty cruise a pearl of the Aegean in September and meant to post a review . First of all really enjoyed the cruise and visited some lovely places including Athens, Olympia, Ephesus and of course Santorini which is beautiful. Try the donkey ride they look as if they're sad but are well looked after as they need to be to climb the steep. Love to back and stay there.

“Liked it, but you need to be in a good shape!”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Nice experience, but requires a lot of physical effort, especially when it is hot! If you'll decide to go, don’t forget comfy shoes and lots of water, hat and anti-sun cosmetics! As for views - been on volcanic Island before and this volcano is not as picturesque as i.e. Lanzarote or La Palma volcanos, but I liked it.

“Complete Waste of time.”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

most of the volcano trips are all day and are a waste of time. There is not much to say about this except it is pointless unless you have never been on a boat before or you like extreme bordem.

“excellent trip and a great guide”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

The german and english speaking guide was very good, he knew a lot about volcanos and transmitted his enthusiasm. The walk from the boat to the top of the volcano was a great way to exercise and I enjoy it, but it may not fit everyone. You need to take water with you and you can purchase a cheap bottle from the boat. The view from the top of the Calderra and the islands is breathtaking. There are some spots where you can dig a little and feel the heat of the vulcano. Attention not to get your fingerstips burn! :) This visit was part of a tour together with the spring waters which was also great albeit too short. If you can, take the full tour including also the sunset in OIA.
