“Complete Waste of time.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

most of the volcano trips are all day and are a waste of time. There is not much to say about this except it is pointless unless you have never been on a boat before or you like extreme bordem.

“excellent trip and a great guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

The german and english speaking guide was very good, he knew a lot about volcanos and transmitted his enthusiasm. The walk from the boat to the top of the volcano was a great way to exercise and I enjoy it, but it may not fit everyone. You need to take water with you and you can purchase a cheap bottle from the boat. The view from the top of the Calderra and the islands is breathtaking. There are some spots where you can dig a little and feel the heat of the vulcano. Attention not to get your fingerstips burn! :) This visit was part of a tour together with the spring waters which was also great albeit too short. If you can, take the full tour including also the sunset in OIA.

“Breathtaking view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

I planned a trip to Santorini for 5 years. It was worth the wait. The view from Fira and even better view from Oia was simply breathtaking. What a dream come true! Greek salads, friendly people and such an inviting atmosphere.
The NCL 14 Day Mediterranean Greek Cruise was spectular!

“Worst experience in Santorini”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

Stay away for Dakoutros Bros boat tours to the volcano unless your are in great physical shape. We booked this ferry just to the volcano and back. We were told there would be a guide with us. Unfortunately the guide only gave us 10 minutes to climb up to the top which is a VERYSTEEP climb if you are not used to it. We are older travelers and could not keep up so we were never with the guide (who just kept walking, not bothering to make sure we were all with him) and therefore learned nothing about the volcano because he was already on the way down before we even got up. When we got back we complained to the lady who sold us the tickets and they would do nothing.

“good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

We had a fabulous guide and it made all the difference. The walk from the shoreline to the top of the volcano is only about a 20 minute walk but you need walking shoes - joggers. There are no facilities to buy food/drink so take water. From the top of the volcano you get beautiful views of the Calderra. You can also smell the sulphur and see the smoke coming out - which is kinda cool!
