We were in Naxos before the main tourist season and it was awesome. We rented a quad for 20E/day for two days and we got to do our own tour of the island with a map from the tourist office. The map is not a typical map - some roads aren't labelled, but that's how the roads are, there are no road names, just signs pointing towards towns. There were about the same amount of tourists as locals - most of the restaurants were not near capacity but that made the service great and also gave some privacy while there too. The island was big enough that we didn't see it all but small enough that we got to see a few of the towns and some beaches. The Greeks were really nice and friendly and helpful. The food in Greece was fabulous - while staying on Naxos try the Naxos salad - the soft cheese is great! We didn't spend much time at the hotel (I guess that is the point of this review) but it was great, the receptionist was awesome, very helpful (Almost everyone on the island spoke English) and our room was cleaned every day - clean towels, bathroom (the showers have curtains) - the cleaning lady was very kind and worked hard. The hotel offers breakfast even though we didn't take advantage and also has a small bar, although I'm sure most people would hit up one of the restaurant/bars where you can sit right near the water/port. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends/family/strangers - for the price and friendliness and cleanliness, it was worth it - and way cheaper than a sub-par US hotel. PS We had a balcony that faced the port!
