This is a very good restaurant. My wife and I repeatedly passed this restaurant as we walked into Chora from our hotel (Horizon). We always commented on how the outside dining area looked tempting and food offerings on the blackboard looked enticing, yet a little different from the usual Greek dishes.
We had an excellent breakfast one morning. My omelette of feta cheese and tomato was simple yet delicious. My wife's Greek yoghurt with honey and fruit was overflowing with fruit.
Breakfast was so good that we returned the following night for an evening meal. It was excellent. The bottle of house white was wonderful. We chose two Arabian main dishes (which I now cannot remember or name - I really should write this stuff down) but the blend of meat, spices, rice, vegetables were different but absolutely delicious.
We were very impressed with how the waiting staff dealt with a couple of minor power cuts that hit the town that evening. Nothing fazed them. Candles and reassurances arrived promptly. The food or service didn't suffer. It was a lovely evening.
Olive restaurant is a small walk away from the main throng of central restaurants and tavernas, and may be considered marginally out of town, but isn't really. One is at risk of missing out on some of the best food and atmosphere in Chora by not coming here. The more central tavernas are often cramped, busy, and rushed.
Olive restaurant is highly recommended.
