So...here is the deal......
First, Folegandros is awesome. Very very quite with a wild edge and no "name" sites to see but one of the most beautiful and charming Chora's in all the Cyclades. Some really nice and charming beaches too. Probably not a place to spend more than 3-5 days in but it is wonderful for that. Also, would highly recommend staying in the Chora area. I would absolutely go back to the island.

For the hotel, as mentioned in other reviews, it is immaculately kept up, with nice size rooms and a very helpful staff (sort of). The pool is small and quiet but a nice place to relax. Breakfast is spartan (no pun intended!) but was okay for me....basically coffee, orange juice, yoghurt, bread and honey. It was included in our rate but I would not pay 10 euros extra for it as another reviewer mentioned. It is in a decent location as everything is a short walk away.

Also as mentioned, there are other hotels that have a little more pep to them and, if you are willing to pay for it, unbelievable views over the cliff side out to sea.

On the downside, while the hired staff is great, the owner is not very friendly and very, very particular about how you act at the hotel. It is almost as if he hovers to watch and immediately correct anything out of place. It makes for a bit of an uncomfortable atmosphere, especially if one has children on the trip. I'm sure this is why the hotel is in very nice condition but it puts one a bit on pins and needles just waiting to be scolded for moving a chair or using the wrong glasses or something.

To sum up....reasonable price (but don't pay extra for breakfast), well kept, and a perfectly enjoyable spot for couples or adult travelers. Would have a bit of a hard time recommending if you have children with you though.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quite nice. Nicer views from the upstairs rooms though.

The choice of accomodation in Oia is bewildering and a bit intimidating when trying to select somewhere suitable in advance. Caldera view or sunset view? Hotel, apartment or cave house? How to get the right view in somewhere lovely and clean and all at a reasonable price. Can we put a good word in for Villa Kallisti?
First, the negatives. Its 98 steps down from the main drag which runs though the middle of Oia and more to the point, its 98 steps back up again. It certainly makes you double check that you have everything with you before you set off upwards. Having said that, we are in our sixties and reasonably fit and didn't find it a problem. Stop half way and get your breath back - you always have that view to take in. We stayed in the large cave house, but if someone is also in the small studio above you lose a little privacy as they have to come onto your sitting out area to access their stairs, but really no big deal.
The pluses. The cave house is lovely and large. Three big rooms working backwards - kitchen and living area, bedroom and bathroom. If there are only two of you, you will have as much room as you could possible want. The decor, colour scheme and furnishings show a degree of flair. It is very well equipped, so you could self cater if you wanted, but we just bought something for breakfast from the supermarket and then eat out the rest of the time. Everywhere is spotless. A cleaner comes in every day and even makes your bed for you. You have a lovely sitting out area with chairs and umbrella so you can sit and take in the view.
Having already mentioned the 98 steps, there is a plus side to it and that is privacy. All the properties in Oia, whatever they are, are are on a slope dropping down from the main drag and a lot of them lack privacy. There are many sets of steps and walkways and some areas suffer from tourists wandering through trying to find the perfect photo opportunity which means that you can be overlooked while you are sitting out. There is a walkway in front of Villa Kallisti, but it is a dead end so has no passing traffic. You are not overlooked and have nothing in front of you except that view. The pricing is reasonable when you compare it with a lot of properties in Oia, but go to Oia not to Fira. It's smaller and much prettier - you won't regret it.

Nothing to complain. Anything you need can be found in this apartment! The best taste in design I have ever seen. The price is good for me. Only the spay shall be fixed and I hope the water can be larger when I take shower.

Overall a nice place to consider when in Oia. Room is down a bunch of steps and it is tiny. (Ok with me, we were traveling light) But wow... the views!

Here are the pros and cons that I found.

Pros
- Amazing views.
- Clean room, with mini fridge and coffee marker.
- Small patio with chairs.
- Pretty fair price when compared to others.

Cons
- Service was decent, but limited, if you need something after you check in, you have to track down someone in Oia.
- Mattress needs replacing, I slept OK, but it's getting worn out.

If you are traveling light and don't mind a tiny room, this is a pretty nice place with amazing views for a good price.

My boyfriend and I went to Oia and stayed here, whilst it was small it was perfect for us!
The view was stunning and the hosts were so nice to us, we didnt spend much time in the room, mainly sitting out on the balcony area or walking around the town or down to the beach ( be aware its a long and hard walk down all the stairs to the beach )
If you are really unfit or have back problems or anything then maybe this place is not for you as the stairs are very steep and there are many of them to get to the villa, but like I said despite that we had the best time and I would stay there again for sure! :)
