The view was outstanding. The long walk up the stairs was worth it! we didnt know that we hade to borrow som longleged trousers to get in, so if you dont want to have trousers or some skirt that doesn´t fit you, put some in youre bag before you go..

It worths going up to the monastery. Unique experience. There is no other of this kind. It is built on the cliff, it only has wall on one side and it is only 3-4 mtrs wide. It is better if you go there early in the morning because you have to walk up many steps. Going up the view is unforgettable, unique, amazing.! There are clothes in the entrance to wear because visitors have to cover legs, shoulders etc. it makes you wonder how they built it 1000 years ago! Don't miss it.

This monastery is absolutely stunning and in my opinion most definitely a 'must see' when in Amorgos. Yes it is a bit of a climb, but once there you are rewarded with the most breath taking views and the icons on display in the monastery are simply beautiful. As others have said make sure you are dressed appropriately - no shorts.

before climbing the long stairs on the rock be careful that the monastry is open, check timetable at the entrance, and wear long throusers or dress. The monastry is smaller than i imagined, but it has a superbe views and ancient icons in the chapel. Monks are open to show you their life. It worths spending an hour there, before going back in the beautiful beaches!

Even if you do not want to visit the monastery, which i recommend anyway, the path to reach the monastery is fantantastic! Go also to the beach Agia Anna that is near! Is very beautiful too!
