Authentic, wonderful architecture, tavernas and overall atmosphere, including very pleasant local inhabitants.
The most organized and beautiful of main cities/towns on the island.

We managed to stay in Chora for three days only in early July, but it was enough to meddle with the people and their relaxed mood, all located in a wonderful scenery of white buildings. In case you have visited more islands in the Aegean, you will recognise the typical white houses and round churches but this here is on top surrounded by a series of old windmills that expands the interesting landscape to the proxy hill-lines. Moreover, the people are modern and you will be surprized to find cafes and bars with their own library with international texts. Bars and cafenia (sort of old coffee houses with possibilities of food) are scattered around the town of Chora, but by taking a turn to one of the small roads you can change immediately from a noisy crowd to complete silence. In any case, take your precautions for wind, it can be blasting really strong there.

In case you desire to have a bath at the sea the closest beach of Ag. Anna is about 1,5km, and in 10' you have left the mountainous area of Chora already. During summer there are also buses with cheap tickets that do this trip.

Writing a review for this marvellous corner in the Aegean sea is rather a difficult task, as words fail to describe the unique feeling you get, once there. The narrow whitewashed streets, the picturesque cafes and bars and, above all, the old windmills with their breath-taking views of the big blue... You'll know what I mean the moment you find yourselves standing up there, admiring in awe the absolute beauty of such an enchanting scenery, feeling in your skin the energy of a unique place untouched by time!

We lived 4 days in Chora.
Ideal place to be, if you wish to have a nice village atmosphere, with almost every necessary things close to you. Sweet shops(Kallisto), restaurants, souvlaki place, bar, mini-market. Very friendly people, they all offer you Psimeni Raki, traditional drink. It definitely has attractions to see in day time, but i would request everybody to be there at night as well. It has totally another vibe. The small village is so charming, so lively at night time. It is peaceful yet totally alive. The restaurant, the bars, the sweets shop. People just walk around, or sit outside, it is something to experience. Totally romantic.
