“Do not get any service from them ”

I totally recommend to avoid this agency. They are only money oriented and totally custumer dis-oriented. We had a trip to Balos and Grambuosa by boat, we have asked the morning, before our journey started, how was the trip on the sea as we could see that there was quite few waves, we were told that despite the sea was a bit rough it will be all right. Wath I saw, was at least 70% of the passenger getting sick despite most of them got pills for nausea. All the furniture of the boat was loosen and not fixed so everything was moving, tables, benches etc... very very dangerous. Most of the people getting sick it is not at all right (and I was one of the few ones not getting sick). We were informed by friends that they also planned the same trip same day with a different agancy and their trip was cancelled. Not to say that on the way back the skipper made a manoeuvre were I thought the boat will sink, we start to board water and the banches flipped upside down. We had a small baby with us and the guide did deliberately mis-informed us. Knowing that I would never put my son in that situation. That is not at all right. Avoid

“Never again - Unprofessional and only about money”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014 via mobile

We booked a trip to Balos Beach. Having a 7 mths old baby we asked them if it was feasible they said no problem.
The day before the trip we had strong wind so we asked if it wld be safe as we had the baby. They swore no worry if there is too strong wind we cancel the trip. The day the wind strength was 7/8 Bo and they lied to us it was only 4!
The boat was old and small crowded with people. The trip was awful more than half of the boat was throwing up! Our baby wss so sick.In the way back the skipper suddenly turned the boat so that we all fell from out seats and by chance didn't hurt ourselves especially with the furniture which was not fixed in the boat!! After we found out that public ferries didn't leave the port !! Don't use them they are only about yr money.
They should have told us the truth and say hey yoyhave a baby you better don't come as it's gonna be risky. This us what I wld have expected by a serious company!!

“Worst of the worse - horrible company”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014

The worst of the worst of my Crete experience last year was this company - the "recommended" tour-operator of our hotel and many others.

Klados Travel organises coach trips to sights in the Rethymno area of which there are plenty.

The truth is, that tourists are driven to two-three business partners in the far countryside for generating turnover for these inferior businesses.

For achieving that aim there is a subtly manipulative travel script, read by the tour "guide" which tells most melodramatic, heart warming stories about why you should buy @ those places the tour stops.

However you wont find many story elements in the actual places!!

Between the product presentations u will be granted time @ ur acutally intended destination. Sadly most often at tourist rush hours so you wont see much of the actual sight in the crowds.

Klados Travel has a strict "business oriented" timetable for every stop.
If you are only FIVE MINUTES LATE, Klados Travel will DRIVE AHEAD WITHOUT YOU - and you will be stuck somewhere deep in the Cretan outback and can find the way back to civilisation on your own!

Without any compensation. Just no one will tell you that while you make your booking ;)))

We watched Klados Travel knowingly leave a group of late tourist of our hotel behind, even though all their luggage and money was still on the bus. (!!!!!) They could pick it up from Rethymno office in the evening. Unbelievable!

Klados Travel did neiter replace those tourist the fare for the tour nor the cost of organising the way back on their own. There was not even an apology for the stress of being left alone without money in the Greek Wilderness.

They were just offered a 50% reduction on the price of another coach trip ...

Well, understandably NOBODY was really fond of travelling with Klados Travel anymore.. to fill their primitive bus trips with ppl so they get even more profit from that.

Better go by bus! - its cheaper and not a total nuisance like going with Klados Travel !

“Worthwhile but exhausting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014 via mobile

I agree with Margaret W that this was an exhausting tour. Hours on hot bus, hours spent picking up and dropping of passengers from different hotels.

We were not warned strongly enough about 'extras' - entrance charges to Knossos, boat fare & entrance charges to Spinalonga.

Due to deafness, we zoned out of the on-bus commentary & the crickets made it impossible to follow the guide at Knossos.

Totally worthwhile going on the tour but be forewarned about time and charges.

“Highly Recommended - Execellent Value and Highly Professional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

We visited Rethymnon in Crete in July 2014 and whilst there came across the Klados Travel office in the town centre. We had never booked a trip through an independent company before and did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised.

Having originally booked a trip to the West of Crete at some 46 euros through our tour operator (Thomson), which was cancelled at short notice, we wanted to see some of the sights and as we were only staying for a week we looked elsewhere for trips we could fill our final days with. Due to the fact we only had Wednesday and Thursday available to do any trip as Thomson cancelled theirs late on Tuesday and we were travelling home on Friday, we thought we would try Klados Travel.

We decided to do the South Round trip which operates on a Thursday. We since found out that this is a new trip that they have started, on which they take you through roads where no coach has been before.

The tour guide whose name I cannot remember but was a gentleman with grey hair, was extremely competent and knowledgeable and probably the most friendly tour guide we have ever experienced.

We first visited the Kournas Lake for a photo stop, the view was truly breathtaking. We then went onto the village of Argiroupoli, which was high in the mountains and was a lovely traditional greek village. We stopped for photo stops at various gorges and also stopped for lunch at Plakias Beach and Village in the South of Crete.

All in all it was a lovely day, if you do the South trip bear in mind that there are a lot of mountains to drive around if you are not a good traveller.

We were very impressed by the company and would definitely book another excursion with them should we find ourselves back in Rethymnon in future.
