Brascos Hotel
Ranked #129 of 175 Hotels in Rethymnon
Reviewed August 27, 2013

We have stayed at the Brascos several times and consider it good value for money as part of a holiday package. According to the list on the door it is 55 euros a night and 5 per person for breakfast, we did not pay that. The staff are very helpful, especially everyone on the 24 hour reception. The cleaning efficient, the air con a bonus and the view from the balcony entertaining especially in rush hour. Watching the sun set from the roof terrace is lovely too!
It is close to the Old Town , 5 mins walk from the start of the beach but not ideal if you had a family as the road you need to cross is very busy.
As a couple from a rural area we loved the hustle and bustle and we hope to go back again!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony.

The hotel staff were very friendly but I must give special mention to the lady who ran the roof top bar. She was very friendly and deserves a special mention. The hotel room was clean and adequately sized. We did not have to pay for air con. You do have to pay for safes which are in the hotel reception area.
We stayed half board. The breakfast was adequate and consisted of; boiled eggs, omelette, cucumber, melon, tomatoes, cheese slice, feta cheese, olives, jams, breads, ,2 cereals, selection of teas, coffee, apricot(tinned) etc. One day bacon was also served and one day sausages.

Evening meals consisted of soup, bread, one fish dish, one meat dish, veg, lots of salad. We ate out several times too so can only say that the food was ok but nothing special.
Watch out for the lift as there is no interior door so be careful. The pool is small with only a few sun beds but looked clean.
The roof top bar was lovely with excellent views and great sunsets. The Greek dancing night is lots of fun but that was the only entertainment.

The location is great, near the old town. This was great to wander round and all the people we came across were lovely. We hired a car from cool holidays near the Fortress. Their rates were good.

One word of caution, red flags on the beach are a serious warning.

The apartments are very good for that price. Room service is active every day, making the bed, cleaning room, changing showers...Food is good-breakfast and dinner but basically same every day but different kind of food on table. Noise of the street could be the problem. Air condition exist in the room already. Beach is not so far and the hotel is in the good location, near the old town of the Rethymnon,

When we entered there was a mix up with the bookings but it was solved after a local friend helped us by talking to the manager. The room is definitely not the most comfortable. A lot of noise from the outside and the bathroom was way too small. To have a shower, it was the most uncomfortable experience since it was very small. The breakfast was ok but could have been better. I definitely saw better 3-star hotels than Brascos. For business it's ok but I wouldn't go there with friends or family.

Just returned with my husband from this great hotel. We have choosen a Crete as our destination for honeymoon and this hotel to be our accomodation. We made a very good choice. A few steps from the Old town and about ten minutes from the beach, this hotel as a centarly located hotel, gives you the opportunity not to loose to much time for your daily activities. Staff in the hotel is exteremely nice, servicable and helpful. Rooms are cleaned every day. Above all those things, food prepared for breakfast and dinner are delicious and soooo tasty, and can satisfy every wish. Besides the mentioned things, it is relevant to be mentioned that Wifi and air conditioner worked perfectly.
All our recommendations for this hotel.
Keep on any you will have to expand your capacity in the future.

Just returned home from a 2 week stay at the Brascos, found the staff to be extermely helpfull and knowledgable on the city and area. The rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard, the breakfast as as expected with a wide choice of continental fare. The roof terrace was great views of the city and sunset were fab, the only downside for me was the pool this is small and at the front of the hotel. Aircon and wiFi was free and my wife and I would recommend the Brascos a a central loocation to explore this part of Crete and is only 10 mins walf to old town and harbour. Great Great Great.

Room Tip: rooms on side street or rear are quieter

Ideal location in heart of busy rethymnon with a car park just opposite the hotel. The room i stayed in was a triple and roomy, very light and pleasant. All the facilities in the room worked and the room was at the end of a corridor so nice and quiet. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast very good and public areas clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful reception too. The hotel is located in the centre of Rethymnon town but across the road you enter into the picturesque world of rethymnon old town which will lead you down to the harbour and beach front.
This hotel is ideal for work or pleasure and is excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Dont expect absolute peace and quiet as the hotel is in the centre of a busy town, but ask for a roo...
