Room adequate for us as a couple although had to limbo dance into bathroom as the sink was too big behind the door!!

Otherwise good position, close to beach with nice clean pool. Regular 15 min bus ride into Rethymon.

Downsides were the too small restaurant and which made meal times a nerve racking experience on occasions . Usually began with having to queue to get a table in the restaurant on a regular basis, followed by the regular bun fight queue to get the help yourself food. Was totally fed up with this by end of holiday. Some staff friendly but not wishing to make alot of contact with holidaymakers and showing a ship them in and ship out attitude.

Room tip: Rooms clean

We arrived late so only in the morning we realized that our view was straight to a wall. We asked for a change and were instantly given new room facing the garden. Seems like about half of rooms are badly positioned - either they face the wall, are to close to each other or half-burried under ground and with little privacy.
The equipment of the room is basic, I would say 2 star rank with addition of fridge, TV and hairdryer. TV was put in such a possition that it was imposiible to watch it from beds. Mattresses were a bit worn out. Bathroom was very basic although everything working fine. There were no shampoos and bad foams in little bottles just a soap dispenser.
The food was rather basic, no fruit except canned peaches for breakfast, same cheap cake every day, awfull juice, in fact it was syrup. Plus points for fresh salads for dinner, but too many basic food - pasta, rice, potatoes and again limited selection of sweets, every day yello and some kind of white or pink sugar foam. From time to time there were greek dishes: bureki, musaka, baklavas.
It seems to me that owners are economizing whereever possible and that their efforts are to achieve and retain 3 stars not to satisfy guests.
Plus points for staff, receptionists are very helpfull, execept for a bit arogant guy. You can buy bus tickets for the city at the reception desk (it is impossible to buy them on bus) and to rent a car (we really got great deal from Minoian Rental car).
The location of the hotel is fine, staright on the beach, no road between. The promenade road to Rethymno starts only short away, you can walk to the city, it is about 3 km, but for our child even that was too much so we were using bus (1 Euro, children free). Although the promenade runs all the way along the beach, it is rather dull, all the way hotels, taverns, markets. But it was good for morning running.
Within walking distance there is nice nature spot - Myli gorge.
The beach is nice, fine sand with some stones in the edge of the sea. The pool and children's pool is nice enough, except there are too little sun beds. After unpolite guest made all day reservations with towels it was impossible to find free sun bed.
The childeren playground is limited to a house/slide on the beach and the playground with plastic house/slide and balls in the recreational room. It provided little amusement to our three old so from time to time we slipped into neighbouring hotel and joined the Neckermann's kids klub.
Another plus for entertainment, greek night was performed by excellent musicians and dancers, magician show was fine and great was also 2-man band playing greek and international evergreens.
Due to late departure we asked if we can extend our stay after check out time. Since our room was already booked, we vere given new room, which was even more basic - probably used only for such exceptions, but it was worth spending 15 Euros.
The hotel is located in the outskirts of Rethymno, so it comes with all downgrades of the city like crush, immigrants, bad architecture, people not so open...

Room tip: If not satisified ask for change of the room.

3* rather than 4*, but still a nice clean, pleasant hotel. Nice food, nice staff, very relaxed hotel with a lovely location on the beach. Rethymno is 15 mins away and a well worth seeing. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

changed room on first night due to poor shower and lights not working properly, staff offered us an option of two more rooms, Sorted. Food a bit boring, I think it values its German visitors more!

Room tip: Do not expect the Hilton, nor a travel lodge

We were an extended family staying in 3 rooms and all though that the hotel was fabulous. The rooms are quite basic so I wouldn't go there expecting lush interiors but the facilities, location, staff and prices more than make up for it.
The downsides first, and none of them bothered us that much - breakfast was a bit dull, no change to the offering each day, not enough variety. The meals at night were ok but nothing special, but then again, for the price and convenience you certainly can't complain. Also, most or all double rooms tend not to have baths.
Another negative - we needed to pay a few euros to play mini golf. A deposit is fair enough to avoid people running off with equipment but we lamented having to pay a fee. Then again, the hotel prices were very cheap, so one can't complain too much...
We had booked a sea view double, and as two adults and a baby we were so squished in the tiny room that the next day we asked if a bigger room was available. We were given the choice of two, both with a separate room for baby and a bath, with no change to the price, so were extremely impressed and it made the difference between what could have been a bad experience due to a tiny room, and a great experience. The staff were very willing and helpful to change our room.
The hotel has wonderful facilities - nice pool, lovely grassy area and bar, play area for kids of all ages, mini golf, giant chess etc. The twice weekly entertainment was excellent, the beach in front very nice and convenient, and the local area has plenty of good restaurants.
The hotel was full of Germans when we were there but we quite enjoyed that as they were nice and quiet and we actually felt we were on holiday by not hearing English all the time!
We were amazed when we realised how little we had paid for this hotel as part of a package booking - it seemed incredible value. So if you have found a good price and don't need fancy rooms (yet they, and the hotel, were always clean) I would totally recommend this hotel for people of all ages.
