We found this restaurant by chance when failing to get a table next door at Castelvecchio Restaurant.
We were 10 people but this was no trouble and we were offered a big round table inside the restaurant so we missed the panorama view over Rethymnon that we could have had. However the stylish table and excellent service compensated for this. I have seldom seen a table so elegantly set with so many glasses, plates and so much cutlery. Just like a first class restaurant!
I and my friends enjoyed mussels and fish, lamb chops and steaks and it was all good honest food and large portions. As with many Greek restaurants it could have done with more spice!
The house wine was very acceptable but my friends as usual bought bottled wine (about 20 euros).
We enjoyed the experience of dining there so we tried it again later and were just as pleased with the food but the weather prevented us from sitting outdoors as it was too windy. Most of us ate lamb roasted on a spit and this was enjoyable but would probably not be our choice next time. The prices were reasonable and would encourage us to make a return visit when we come back to Rethymnon.
