“Two of the best food in Crete”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Excellent food. I have not tasted such food in Crete such as this. I just wish that we could have returned for more.

“No idea what the fuss is about.”
Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I had food there last night. Quite frankly nothing to write home about. We ordered food along with wine and that arrived quickly with burnt bread and water. But since we didn't order the bread and water thought was a nice gesture.

The starter was ok, saganaki which could have done with a few more minutes cooking. Lamb keleftiko came in filo pastry and was more pastry than anything. 5 lumps of lamb with veg is not a keleftiko. The other main was veal, again 4 chunks and a load of barley pasta. Good size portion, just not enough meat.

We got tutted at for pouring our own wine, so next time we waited, and waited, you could die of thirst if we had waited. Finally got the attention of the waiter to get the bill.
Which is when we discovered €2 for the burnt bread and water. Been here a week and our worst evening meal so far and the most expensive.

“The first - and most amazing - food we had in Crete”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Straight out of the taxi, we had stopped here to ask for directions to our hotel. Christtoss (hope that's how his name is spelt) gave us great directions, and offered us a complimentary glass of wine (even though we weren't staying at their hotel).

Feeling hungry, and to show our appreciation for Christtoss' generosity, we decided to return later that evening for a bite to eat.

Honestly, it has to be the best food we had in the 5 days we were in Crete. Not only is this place the best in Crete, it probably deserves a Michelin. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh and the overall experience was an absolute delight. Coupled with friendly and helpful staff than genuinely want you to enjoy your time (as opposed to staff that put on a good show of amiability elsewhere), this is probably our number 1 choice for dining in Crete.
