We had the opportunity if visiting the Melody on two occasions (lunch and a dinner) during our week in Rethymnon. Both times we had a really satisfying meal, and a really fun time.
Set away from the main drag and the doof doof of the horrid tourist cafés, you couldn't find a more scenic garden terrace, full of light and if you need, sunshine. Plenty of shade during the day, we came at lunch and had a great time.
The kitchen is small but the food is worth the wait. Traditional Cretan fare, delicious and fresh. The pork fillet in filo pastry is to die for.
The waitor is charasmatic and lots of fun, he will most likely offer you a shot of raki which he will have with you in true Greek hospitable style. Just be warned that he may have done his many times so by the end of he evening may be a bit wobbly.
