ideal location, we had a room overlooking Arkadiou street, much quieter than the sea front, owners were always very helpful, in fact they came out to meet us the evening we arrived. always willing to give directions and advice were to visit. be very careful when eating at the restaurants near the harbour, overpriced compared to other restaurants.

Room Tip: choose a room at rhe back much quietier.

First off, the owners of this place are just lovely. Brothers Stavros, Stelios and Manos who also run the travel/tour shop underneath/across the road. They really can't do enough for you and are genuinely really nice people. Handy for tips of things to do and places to eat as well. And they arranged transfers to/from the hotel.

Perfectly placed in the old town in two buildings across a shopping street (don't be put off, everything closes at 11pm and the shops are nice shops, not rubbish tourist shops). We stayed in a 2 bed apt (i think you can only book this direct) in the building across the road down a quiet alleyway overlooking a garden of clementine trees. Clean and simple with two bedrooms (one double, one queen for our 3 year old daughter) 2 balconies, air con, kitchen and shower room. Slept really well but you are near a church so be warned you will get bells ringing at 7.30 or 8 on a sunday morning! Not a hotel as such so don't expect them to be there 24 hours a day, although they work super hard and are in the shop from 9am - 11pm. Free wifi too which is a bonus. The brothers and the location really made it for us, and having a 2 bed apt was brilliant. Would stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, if it's good value simple accommodation you're after in a fab location then I don't think you can go far wrong.

As a side note, we were really impressed with the old town of Rethmyno - perfect balance of beach, harbour and little winding lanes of the old town. The shops in the old town were great. How I wish shopping was in england, not a sea of chain stores. The new part where the big hotels were seemed a bit soul-less. See some of my restaurant reviews....

Room Tip: If you want a room away from it all and aren't bothered by the sea view, then the building we st...

The sea-front is exactly like the pictures. I stayed there 12 nights. It is not a hotel since it is rent rooms and I think this gives it a nice and special home feeling. It is super clean and bright, the spacious rooms are serviced every day and the two brothers who take care of the guests are lovely people. The customized service is excellent. I had initially booked a sea view room for the entire duration of my stay which indeed offered a fantastic view but I personally found it too noisy with the restaurants boarding the beachfront as I keep the windows open. I mentioned this the first morning and they went out of their way to relocate me, even offering an apartment in another building they own on the other side of the street! I opted to stay at the sea-front but in an opposite room with a big private and sunny terrace. I loved it there and felt completely safe. The building is extremely well located with the front entrance smack in the middle of the old town on its main street and the rear entrance... right on the beachfront! I think they also own the travel agency downstairs, making it easy to book day trips at very affordable prices. The reasons I do not give an excellent rating is (1) I found the beds - new by the way - a little too hard and (2) there is no satellite TV so if you do not speak greek, it is useless. (3) the building is not noise proof and a family downstairs was noisy at times.

Room Tip: I loved room 8 upstairs, opposite sea view but with a really big private terrace. It is shown on the...

This small hotel has soul and character. The location is excellent, absolutely central, in the old town. The building offers access to the sea from the one side and to the market street of the old town, from the other side. Extremely clean and in the room I had everything I needed. The owners are simple, super friendly, trully kind, with respect to their guests and open to offer anything you might ask. I felt very comfortable and warm, I had an amazing stay. Many thanks.

This is a wonderful family-run hotel, with the best location you could possibly have in Rhethymnon: on one side is the gorgeous historic town and on the other the beautiful historic harbour and waterfront promenade. We came for one night and stayed for three! All three brothers were extremely helpful and accommodating, really a pleasure to get to know. They even helped us plan our entire onward journey in Crete. There is also a travel agency on the main floor in case you need ferry tickets. THANK YOU BROTHERS! See you again soon!
