We are a family of 9 and we had an absolute ball here at the estate. It really is exactly what it looks like online if not better. The villa is a good size and we felt we had a lot of space. The town is a taxi ride away which is perfect as it is 8 euro in a cab. The cab service is amazing they are so good and patient and always came within 10-15 minutes. We got to know them very well. We didn't feel that the taxi journeys spent up much money. We thought about getting a car, but decided not to, this I am sure may be a benefit in some ways, but we did not regret not having one. The cleaners came to us twice in the 9 days we were there. The cleaners cleaned everything from top to bottom, floors, kitchen, dishes, tidied our things away nicely and very nice. Dimitris, is the property maintenance/manager and was so amazing, he would quietly come in the mornings and maintain the pool and say hi in passing and offer advice and ideas on what we should do. No problem or issue was too large he helped us so much. Initially before we arrived, we read the reviews and thought maybe it will feel a bit strange having someone be at the property every day, but actually it was not at all strange and actually nice to see his face every morning! The pool lights up at night, and is not heated but we appreciated that because it was so hot. The pool was the best part! The only issue I remember having was that the actual owner of the property arrived on to the villa without warning and didn't introduce himself and was with another man, which startled my mother and sister as they thought two strange men walked around the garden. We were not happy with the way this happened and we reported this to dimitris who apologised and the next day the owners arrived to meet us (unannounced) with a couple of bottles of wine to introduce themselves. They seemed nice in the end. They bought us a couple of massages which came to our house and was AMAZING. We highly recommend the massages! Go to Zizzis for a meal that's not too harsh on the pocket and a really nice Greek garden to eat. I could continue to write about this amazing villa, we have never had such an amazing luxurious holiday and we want to thank the team so much for a wonderful week in paradise!
Ps please be careful swimming in rethymno sea as it is very dangerous there we had to try save a woman who drown on our last day but our efforts did not help, she unfortunately died. Watch out for red flags from the life guards. Pick this villa you will not regret it I promise! (From our Irish/British/spanish family)
We were 17 people, stayed for 7 days and enjoyed every minute. Great villa on a great location with a beautiful view, everything was just perfect.
Eight adults and two children under three does not always make for a good holiday but this villa’s layout made it all so easy. Both upstairs and downstairs have their own independent kitchen and living room so early rising children could be breakfasted whilst the others slept on without disturbance. The pool and grounds were very well attended and the location perfect. We used a taxi every evening to sample the restaurants in Rethymnon - all of them very good. Rethymnon itself is a delight - full of locals and visitors wi5 plenty to do but not too “touristy”. All in all a fantastic holiday and villa.
10 of us came to stay here for 10 days for my 50th birthday. Stunning views, location excellent - just 7 euro cab ride into Rethymno Town (if you actually want to leave the villa!). The villa is beautiful, modern, well kept, clean and the amenities are superb. We didn't have any young children with us - but the teenagers loved the ping pong table. So did the adults! Dimitri popped by, making sure everything was OK. If you stay, you must have the chefs come in and cook - the food was stunning, very reasonable. The villa was cleaned at least twice whilst we were there. I really cannot fault this place. It's well known that the Cretan people are hospitable, kind, helpful and Dimitri and his team were this to the letter. The pool was beautiful but not heated, so in March we didn't use it much, but in warmer weather, I would have spent a lot of time in there. There are plenty of loungers and chairs for everyone and umbrellas and tables.
Bottom line - a truly fantastic stay. We will most definitely return. In fact, we didn't want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We arrived late at night to be greeted by a smiling Dimitri. He cooked a delicious meal for us the first night which saved us having to rush to the supermarket. He was there every day and always available for assistance. What a lovely villa and gardens, so much space and well maintained. There is a wonderful BBQ area with superb views out to sea and a play area for younger children. It was even more attractive than the photos on the web site. We were a party of 13 from 70 down to 6 and we couldn't have had a better place for our celebration. Our flight home was at 9.00 at night and we were allowed to stay on past the normal check out time which made a huge difference. We loved our holiday in Villa Pasifai and would happily return and we will certainly recommend it to our friends.
The villa was very spacious ,absolutely spotless and well looked after. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful and Maria spoke excellent English. Recycling and rubbish was cleared every morning for us as if by magic. The pool is fantastic - really warm and kept exceptionally clean. It's a good size and the children had so much fun they didn't want to go to the beach! Lidl is an easy drive away ( recommend one hires a car) but the little supermarket and cafe is 5 mins walk for emergency items like milk, bread and ice cream. Beaches are within easy reach by car and one has great water slides. The villa had good wheelchair access as do the beaches.I am the grandma doing the review!
I recently had the priviledge of travelling to Crete and staying at the Knossos Estate Villa. As the title suggests, the property looks just like the pictures. It was clean, presented well and was very spacious. I say this with credibility, as we were a group of 16 (10 adults, 4 kids and 2 babies). The rooms were clean and all equipped with storage space and AC. Both floors were each equipped with a fully functional kitchen with enough dishes and kitchen tools to allow us all to eat and cook.
The outside provided a wonderful view of Rethymno and a gorge below. The pool was large and had both a shallow and deep end along with a sectioned off area for little ones that can't swim. Outdoor seating was ample and provided enough space to facilitate a couple of outdoor meals that were cooked on the outdoor charcoal grill. The play areas were also great for the kids.
The location was great as it was only a 10-15 minute ride into Rethymno and a minute from the major highway (can't hear any cars when you're in the villa).
This place and the comforts definitely contributed to the amazing experience we had. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for anyone that wants to stay away from resorts and have a comfortable and private place to sleep.
