“Very interesting farm set in a peaceful setting.”

We walked to the farm from the El Greco Hotel. It took about 1 hour, going via the village of Pigi. It was a lovely walk and we were greeted at the farm with drinks and a friendly staff.

“Best of Crete”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

This place is so much more than a meal - its an experience. Tasting and seeing the old Cretan agricultural techniques is spectacular. Wheat threshing, bread tasting right out of the oven, crushing grapes with our feet, tasting the distilled raki, seeing the animals and then moving to a beautiful terrace overlooking the olive groves - perfection. The meal was a feast - course after course of delicious - simply prepared - local food. It was our best night in Greece.

“worth the visit”

Lovely to see the old Greek ways of farming. Kids loved seeing all the animals. We all enjoyed the organic Greek lunch and I bought some lovely food in their shop!

“Do visit, but go when it's properly open”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

Having now read the reviews here, I worked out where we went a tad wrong... We visited Agreco during the day, rather than doing the full package of visiting and dining in the evening, which have received excellent reviews.

We arrived early afternoon and on arrival, we weren't sure it was open, it was, but everything was very quiet and almost closed - the shop's lights had to be put on for example, and although I'm a big fan of conserving energy, we were paying to visit the farm...

The animal farm and vinery were really enjoyable, take plenty of water as it's a hot but nice walk; better yet, wait until the evening and go on one of the tours when it's properly open!
