Mythos Suites Hotel is situated in such a peaceful location, yet right in the heart of vibrant Rethymno with all its interesting shops, harbour front and beach. The hotel had everything I had hoped for - aside from its original Venetian architecture, it was clean, comfortable and quiet but also really friendly with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Eleni, Andy and all the staff were wonderfully helpful without being invasive, and recommended some excellent restaurants and places of interest. Here, the service really had the 'personal touch' - often preempting what we required. All in all, attention to detail made this hotel nothing short of exquisite... And the breakfast was great, too! I would recommend Mythos Hotel to anyone, and I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Room Tip: I would (again) choose a room on the 1st or 2nd floor for maximum privacy.

We stayed at this hotel for 18 days. Lovely rooms , nice little pool, a perfect ambiance in a renovated Venetian house in the middle of the old town. Cosy, relaxed atmosphere. The staff really understands the meaning of the word 'service'. It was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. It fitts the description 'boutique hotel'!

We travel a good deal and rarely find ourselves saying 'we really must come back' but we left Mythos Suites after 7 nights quite sure we will return one day although it is more likely to be at one end of the season or the other rather than July / August as the temperature was touching 40 degrees. Andy and Eleni are great hosts and could not be more helpful. Mythos suites is
the perfect oasis in old town Rethymnon but don't even try to find it without clear directions. You won't. Especially in the dark. The cathedral and the Euro shop are probably the most useful markers. Everyone we asked sent us in different directions.
Every restaurant recommended by Andy was great and each for different reasons.
Knossos in the harbour is a must do experience just to meet the family who have been running this place for generations. Great grandma Knossos is 82 and still runs the kitchen all day every day!
If planning to go to the Fortress it is a good idea to go one evening when there is an event on as it won't get locked until about 23.00.
If it is hot during the day it is better to go in the evening but last admission about 7.45.

One practical tip with the beds. We only realised as we left that the bed slats were not fixed in any way and were not adequately supporting the mattresses. Just worth a check at the start of a stay.

We spent nine days enjoying the wonderful hospitality at the Mythos. The hotel's casual elegance invites relaxation, making it a superb vacation getaway. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, offering guests a perfect balance of privacy and attentiveness. The breakfasts were tasty and sustaining, a great start to each day. Our suite was spacious and comfortable and was kept very clean. The beautiful courtyard, where the pool is located, was peaceful; in the evenings the courtyard air was filled with the light fragrance of jasmine, quite revitalizing after a hot summer day! My children were treated wonderfully by the staff, making us all feel very welcome. We highly recommend the Mythos for ensuring a lovely stay in Crete.

We spent three nights at this greek pearl - relaxing, clean and friendly.
Beautiful interior/exterior and a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately we could not use the wireless internet in our room. Nevertheless; we highly recommend this hotel.,
