The cemetary is a pretty and well looked after place which certainly stimulates some deep contemplation. It's a quiet and serene place and it's quite moving to take time out to consider the ages of those who died, most of which from what I could see were between 19 and 25. Worth a visit but quite a trek from our hotel at the other end of Maleme, and up a gentle incline which seems steeper than it it is the heat of the day.

Really well worth a visit whilst in Maleme. A Very moving and thought-provoking place.Really very interesting. The cemetery is so well kept too, apparently cared for by volunteers, which do an absolutely fabulous job.

This is a good spot to tkae a moment to think why we do certain things, and how we act in the same way, even though we are all different.

It was very moving and put things into perspective to see the graves of all the young paratroopers who died during the assault on Crete in the WW2. so many young people it makes you wonder what it was all about.

it was a 1.2 k walk from the hotel and worth it for the views, alone, we took the walk up specifically for photo opportunities. The onsight cafe was quite expensive, but wc facilities spotless
