The villa looked even nicer than it did in the photographs. The pool although a bit small, was lovely and warm, and the view from it was stunning.
As for the villa the owners are very generous, they had left bread, water, wine, coffee etc etc. As I'm I was also happy to discover a dishwasher and a washing machine. Air conditioning was welcome as it was hot.
Maleme has everything you need and some reasonably priced tavernas. The villa had a very helpful handbook written by the owners, through it we discovered the Botanical Gardens (orange cake will stay with me a long time). Chania's old town is stunning packed with restaurants and shops. Also we found some perfect little beaches not too far away-including a little cove, hammocks and a taverna. Bliss.
A car is a must.
Clean house in a quiet location, nice garden with herbs and fruit trees, beautiful view, fully equipped kitchen.
This was exactly what we wanted, peaceful, great views, private villa with own pool. However villa Odyssey gave us much more. There is everything you could need even a washing machine, iron, dishwasher and ice machine! The outdoor kitchen and BBQ is superb. The private garden has herbs, olives, figs, lemons and grapevines.
Chania is only 30 minutes away, local supermarkets like Lidl 15 minutes, shops restaurants and smaller markets even closer at Maleme. A great base to explore Crete from. The owners have thought of everything.
A lovely calm and homely place to stay. Pool and view are both perfect and it has good wi-fi and an amazingly well equipped kitchen. You will need a hire car to explore the area.
