Booked the Ledra Maleme with Olympic holidays as accommodation only for 2 weeks in October 2012.The two bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable with a large balcony to the front facing the pool with a smaller balcony to the side with a view over the olive groves. All the staff were extremely friendly and obliging and we would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone visiting the western side of Crete.Maleme was quite quiet as it was late in the season but the excellent bus service to the busier resorts of Platanias and Agia Marina and the main town of Chania meant that there was always an alternative to the pool.If anyone hasn't visited the western side of Crete before then if you have the opportunity give it a try.You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We were allocated apartment 27 which is on the first floor overlooking the pool.Excellent.

I spent one week in this nice hotel with my son. It was a wonderful location, close to the beach, great pool, quite and extremely friendly. We certainly will come again.
We were obviously the only guests who had a breakfast included. The breakfast is very simple.
We had a very large room, everything was clean and nice. The kitchen was well equipped.

Well, Greece is always right! I love Greece, but it had been 21 years since my latest trip. (Wonder why?!) Now I had the joy to show my three children that fantastic country. In October we decided on a trip to Creta and a week later we arrived to Ledra Hotel in Maleme.
We couldn´t have chosen better. Ledra and Maleme are just the kind of small places we enjoy. Look at ratings about the hotel. The staff is very helpful, nice, polite, familiar. Food was very good, toasts for the kids, frappes also. Not to talk about the nice little bar with ouzo, raki, local beer,...for the mom.
The whole holiday was excellent.
We were very happy with our stay and would like to return. Thank you!

My husband and I are just coming to the end of our weeks holiday at the Ledra. We were looking for a quiet holiday away from crowds and nightclubs and that's exactly what was delivered. The Ledra is a little gem hidden away behind the main road through Maleme but not far from the quiet stony beach and the slightly busier beachfront hotels and tavernas. The hotel and pool are lovely and apartments are clean and have everything you need. Maleme is not at all built up at all with a scattering of hotels, apartments and tavernas. We ate out every night and found that the food at the Ledra was as good or better than most other places. Nikos and his team are a friendly fun bunch and make you you feel very welcome. We spent several nights chatting over local beer and raki! We would definitely come back. Advice for anyone considering coming here is bring the sort of beach shoes you can wear in the sea as the pebbles are difficult to walk on - saying that they can be bought from the local shops. Also try the bakery and small scattering of eateries on the main road through Maleme!

Flew out on the 28th August for a one week package with Olympic Holidays. The flights were with Small Planet and they were good and on time. The only downside was that my new very sturdy luggage tag ( a gift from Tripadvisor) had mysteriously disappeared! The transfer took about 40 minutes to Ledra. Check in at reception was smooth and efficient. The standard of our studio was excellent. It was large with 2 single beds pushed together and a small single. There was even a shower cubicle in the bathroom! The first greek apartment we,ve stayed in to have one! The decor was bright and clean and a toaster, kettle and t.v supplied. Rooms were serviced every day and the sheets and towels changed mid week. Our ground floor balcony was private and not overlooked by others. We didnt use the pool as it looked a bit cramped, so can,t comment. The downside to the Ledra is it,s a little too far from the restaurants if you have any walking difficulty. It takes about 6 minutes to the pebble beach but another 8-10 to the nearest restaurant. Don,t expect a huge choice of eating places, we saw only about 9 resturants and cafe bars. We ate lunches in Kyma( Waves) and Mythos and evening meals in the Ayepi, Perasma, Ledra and the Albatross Hotel. My favourite was the Ayepi as it was spacious with sea views and a large grass area. For children it also had a trampoline and a couple of rides. My worst meal was at the Albotross, the chicken fillet was terrible! We had one meal at Ledra that was quite good but " the barbecue night " was not worth 12 euro each. It consisted of salad, chips and pork kebabs. No drinks were included apart from a small customary raki that you are given at all the other restaurants in the resort! We met some nice people in Meleme and all seemed to be like minded, wanting a quiet base to both relax and explore the area. Hi to Jenny and Harry, hope you both enjoyed your second week.
