The lady was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, with some cold water already in the fridge. The views from the balcony were fantastic and the all-important shower had good water pressure. A couple of minor things to be aware of - for some of the day there was no shade on most of the balcony, although we were usually out at this time of day so it wasn't much of an issue. The balcony for our apartment would not be suitable for young children as they could squeeze through the bars, however many of the apartments are on the ground floor and these would be suitable for all ages. As we had no children with us this wasn't an issue for us. We would stay here again without hesitation.

I have not been to Irene Villas for about 20 years. I was very pleased to see that Irene is still there and looking great! The apartments have been upgraded since and the beds were very comfortable with clean and crisp linen, lovely towels and a new bathroom. Slightly old fashioned kitchen but with everything you need for simple meals including a small cooker/grill and hob. Also a large fridge to hold all our fruit from the Saturday market. There were some very nice little goodies for a welcome drink and snack/breakfast and also nice shower gel/shampoo and soap. As a swimmer, the pool was big enough to do lengths. The gardens are very attractive. Road noise did bother me as much as I thought it would. Will definitely return.

Room tip: We had a room in the front building but at the side, facing bamboo, but you could see the sea from the terrace balcony

Once you have decided to visit Ierapetra (it grows on you) and you don't want to be in a large all inclusive hotel, then Irene Villas really should be considered. Situated just East of the centre, on the Beach Road, accommodation is spacious and very clean. Furnishing is of comfortable, simple Cretan style. Nice soft bed too!
The welcome is second to none. The pool is a decent size with plenty of shady space available. Gardens are well cared for.
There is a good sized supermarket two minutes drive away and a couple of local Tavernas just a few minutes walk. We particularly enjoyed Clio - turn left out of the drive and just 250 yards away. The walk into the centre takes 20 mins.

Room tip: Some rooms are at ground level but our suite (Rm1) was easily accessed up a single set of steps.

Thank you, Irene, for your kindness and help! We had a lovely stay. Villa was a good place with the big green territory, nice pool, and picturesque shallow beach. The beach was long and sandy, and just across the street. It was not crowded even in a season, because of the location. Villa was situated within 20 min walking distance from the city center. But big supermarket with everything needed was in 15 min walk and just in 3 min - a cozy taverna.

My Sister and I had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived till we left. Irene is a lovely Lady, very friendly and helpful, she made us coffee and home made cake and invited us in for a quick breakfast of some sort of fried cheese pie just before we left, awesome. The property is surround by lovely trees and flowers, plenty of different sort of places to sit and relax in, great pool and the added bonus of a Jacuzzi! The location for me was great, as it is away from all the noise of town, and just 15-20 minute stroll along the beach into town. The room we had was great with two balcony's over looking the beautiful gardens and sea. There is a fabulous taverner a couple of minutes walk across the road, which has its own free sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. What more could you ask for....
