Nice & warm place, nice & kind staff, tastefull recipes. The cook knows the difference between rare and medium rare. You should taste any steak or fillet is in the menu. Also any kind of risotto. The house wine is really good and cheap. Definitely a place in Heraklion where you can eat more than descent!

We included the Prassein Aloga on our list based on some of the reviews. We chose beef on a bed of rice and yoghurt and enjoyed it so much we returned on our last night to have the same again. On the second occasion we chose starter - vegetable balls and mushroom, both were delicious.

The restaurant is located to the side of a a main thoroughfare so you could people watch. The street was a little dirty and it would have been nice if it had been cleaned before diners turned up.

An interesting menu of starters and main courses with promising descriptions is offered as an appetizer. Toma on the service explains in detail not only the ingredients of each dish but also the most appropriate way to eat it!

Moroccan, Serbian, Italian dishes that we tried were all prepared in style and were very tasteful. Perhaps only the pasta needed to be closer to the al-dente side. Nice small selection of beers at descent prices.

The home made tiramisu closes the performance in the best possible way, proving that it is not infamous for no reason. Around 20-25 per person it is definitely good value for money. Better make a reservation.

Having read the rave reviews of Prassein Aloga I decided to give it a go on my last night in Iraklion. The food, did not disappoint, it was excellent (I'm Greek), which was a pleasant surprise given the hit and miss nature of Greek taverns on the Island in particular.

While the food was excellent, the service was downright rude. I'm fairly sympathetic to a waiter having a busy night, but this was unbelievable. We were literally ignored when we first arrived and then spoken to in a curt, harsh voice whenever we asked for something. The waiter looked downright angry to be serving us and blew us off every chance he got. Perhaps because some of my party didn't speak Greek. Regardless, will not be going back, and cannot recommend despite the excellent food.

This is by far the best restaurant in Heraklion that everyone MUST visit. Small and cozy, personal service (special thanks to Thomas) and the dishes are amazing! Maybe a bit hard to find (there isnt a clear sign outside) I live in Heraklion and whenever i want to go out for dinner Prassein Aloga is the first option for me. For starters try the prosciutto with mozzarella, any salad, and for main dish pork fillets with mushrooms in lemon sauce or any of the beef fillets. Penne with salmon is another of my favorites. If you are in Heraklion, try it, you will not regret it!
