We stayed at the Kronos for one night before flying home.It was great to find clean, modern rooms and good showers after a hot drive from the south coast. The welcome was warm and the problem with leaving our hire car for collection was soon sorted out. There is a car park just up the road with reasonable charges but only a small space outside the hotel for unloading .
The general ambience of the hotel is fresh and tasteful and it was excellent value for money. Our room was facing the sea and a busy road but the sound was screened successfully by the double glazing.
Breakfast at 5 euros was good. The coffee and orange juice could have been better but overall it was fine.

Room Tip: seaview with a balcony would be worth it in hot weather if staying for a day or two.

In a good location near the port and the Archeology Museum, this was a good one night stay on the way from Chania to Santorini.

The room itself was very large, modern, and quiet, but with an odd see-thru bathroom door and a bathroom window which vented out into the hallway. The hallways were always unlit and you have to grope to find a light switch.

The reception was very helpful and referred us to a local cafe for a good traditional dinner. We had to leave very early in the morning to catch the ferry so we didn't get to enjoy the breakfast on the premises.

We didn't have time to go to Knossos or the Museum but we will be back in Crete again to see these and we would probably stay at Kronos again.

The room and the hotel is very nice. The staff very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast which has almost everything..the hotel is very close to the port and to the market of heraklio so that is easy. It is also close to the buses that go to other places out of heraklio like rethimno or chania. I would stay again at kronos.

I went to Heraklion by fast boat from Santorini and it was an easy 10-min. walk with luggage to the hotel from the port. I had a single room with a partial view of the seafront as well as a balcony. It was spacious, comfortable, and had a good feel to it. Double glazed windows provided noise insulation. I paid around 50 euros and stayed for three nights.

There are many restaurants closeby and you can walk in a few minutes to the bus station from which the bus departs to Knossos. You are also a short walk away from the historic center and the archaelogical museum (currently closed).

At dusk you can stroll along the seafront, past the Venetian fortress.

We stayed here two nights and had a room with balcony facing the seafront.
The room is basic, no decorations, but has a fridge, an air-con and a TV. Beds could have been more comfy, we didn't sleep so well. But maybe it was more because of the noise from the street... We can't tell if other rooms are more quiet. But we liked sitting in the balcony before dinner and do people watching...
Breakfast was about getting satisfied but it wasn't nice. Coffee and tea were horrible, fruits a bit brownish, bread dry, juice artificial.
For a short stay ok... Despite the fact that you without second thoughts can skip Heraklion at all. This city is really dodgy and ugly. Even Knossos is - in our opinion - not worth the trip. It seems all to depend on the imagination of your guide...
