Nice and helpful staff. I had a ground floor room that was non-ensuite - reflected in the tarriff. The batthroom was on the same floor. Felt like quite a traditional greek style hotel. I'd describe it as being quite simple but adequete and pleasant. Mugs, glass inte room, local station TV. There is wifi that worked well and at no extra cost. The bed was reasonably comfortable though a little hard.
The hotel is tucked away in the lanyrinth of streets close to Heraklion centre. I would recommend taking a taxi to the hotel, but once you know where the hotel is, it's fine. It is very good value for money, though I didn't take the breakfast as I felt at 8e, this was a little over priced.

We arrived by ferry from IOS at 9:00pm. Walked into Heraklion and the first hotel we called at was full, the kind lady on Reception phones on and booked us into the Lena Hotel. Very friendly, great price everything worked as it should, including the shower, pressure was just like home in England with power shower.
Will certainly stay here again.
Details stored in my Apple device.
Perfect stay, excellent value for money.

Room Tip: This hotel is a Gem well situated for Heraklion city centre.

Stayed here one night because my flight arrived late. Very friendly helpful staff. The room was spotless, but the water pressure in the (tiny) showers is pitiful and just dribbles out of the handheld showers. Apparently this is a known situation in the hotel, but the management hasn't done anything to improve it. If you are not too fussed about showering and just looking for a well-located clean hotel then you could do worse. It is especially good value for solo travellers.

Usually when I have an early flight out of Heraklion I stay at the Sofia Hotel. At just one km from the airport, that's a pretty comfortable place to stay.
But then there are times, when the spring sun is shining and you have all the time in the world travelling from the south east of Crete to the capital, it's tempting to be in the city center, have a few glasses of wine on one of the sunlit terraces and, at dinner time, have a stroll to one of my favorite restaurants at the harbour, Taverna Ouzeri.

So I picked the Lena Hotel, very pleasantly priced at € 38 per night and in the very heart of Heraklion at walking distance of everything you'd wish to walk to (except Knossos). No parking lot but even in this part of Heraklion there's always a free spot somewhere in the direct neighbourhood. I found one at 50 mts from the hotel.

About Lena itself I can only confirm what most of the reviews here say about the hotel: clean room, free wifi, nice staff. What more do you want. Breakfast? Can't comment on that: had to catch that early flight remember?
