“Truly excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Good choice of fresh food, well prepared and well served. The important things to notice are how many Greek people eat here and that there is no "greeter" set to drag punters in from the street.

Good for lunch and dinner; just order suitably. Portions are generous, so don't over-order.

“Superb modern take on traditional menu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

The family (Me, El Boss and the Babs) sat en terrasse. The waiter was prompt, friendly and professional (superb facial hair too it must be said).
We ordered dakos, village salad, country potatoes and sour wheat with dried mushrooms from the main menu and homemade cretan pasta with beef sausage from the specials.
They all arrived looking fabulous and tasting even better.
We were so ecstatic.
After trying our best to avoid stodgy same-old-same-old tourist tavernas offering the identical sub standard fare Sillogi was a breath of fresh air.
So tasty and well balanced.
In terms of price all of the above cost less than 30 yoyos and we got two soft drinks, bread, olives and a bottle of table water too.
Six thumbs up.

We even bought some of the oloves from the deli.

“Great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Probably the best restaurant in Crete we have been so far. Great flavoursome food - with traditional Greek ingredients, everything made fresh and a nice choice of meals - different from the hundreds of Greek taverns everywhere. Very friendly service, convenient location (only sea view was missing).

“Cozy, great food, prima service - a find in Heraklion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

I visited this restaurant on the two final days of my vacation on Crete - I can safely say, that had I discovered it earlier I would have dined there many more times. The restaurant is located on Odos 1866, where you will also find other smaller restaurants, bars as well as numerous shops.
It offers both outdoor seating so you can enjoy the ambiance, indoor for those more into that as well as the option of hanging out at the bar for some wine, a beer or whatever your poison might be.

As the restaurant is also a deli, they sell the food stuffs that are also being used for the dishes - prime selection of cheeses, meats and much more.

The menu consists of a number of fixed dishes - and a daily menu which depends on whatever comes in from suppliers of fish, meats, vegetables and so on for that particular day.

The food is both well prepared, nicely presented and above all very very tasty - I can recommend adding the Village Salad to whatever menu you might be building, the combination of fresh vegetables, feta and fresh goat cheese makes for the best variation of the "Greek Salad" that I have tasted.

The waiters have been very kind and service-minded in my visits, leaving time to select a menu, not pushing you to finish quickly and yet having an eye on when you require anything.
A waiter even helped me setup access to their wifi when he saw I was browsing on my smartphone.

Highly recommended - a true find in Heraklion with great ambiance, service and food.
