Great Hotel
Great Location
Great personnel who really care
Great rooms
Clean, new and with taste.
I would never expect to stay in a better hotel in Heraklion. If you want to get the best in this town, search no more.
And above all reasonable prices...

If you plan a business trip to Iraklion, don't hesitate to choose this hotel. It feels like vacation!!! First of all, because of the location, very close to the port, so, as you understand, the view from the front rooms is the sea!!! At the roof you can find a small pool, big enough though, to make you forget that you are in the biggest city of the island. The rooms are more than comfortable, the hotel is very quiet, the breakfast very rich! You can even find a gym!!!! The personnel is as kind as you expect from a hotel of this kind and they serve you as if they serve a friend. I cannot find anything negative to comment on.
Ask them to tell you the story of the building. It is very interesting. This huge building at the entrance of the port stood as ruins for ages. It was not the best thing to see as soon as you arrived on the island. Fortunately, it was turned to one of the sightseings of the city. Choose to eat at the restaurant on the roof garden or take your book and visit the impressive library on the first floor. Overall, more than 5 stars!!!
I don't want to forget that they upgrade your room, if there is availability, so, if you are lucky enough, a surprise welcomes you!!!

We stayed at the Megaron Hotel twice and both visits were marked by excellent service. The hotel itself is beautiful - gracious and spacious. The room was well appointed with a high ceiling, roomy bathroom and a balcony overlooking the harbour. The staff were very helpful and helped us with suggestions, directions and the storage of our superfluous luggage for five days. We can also highly recommend the rooftop restaurant - good vibe, great food at a decent price, Greek hospitality and superb views.

We stayed here on our last night in Crete, and we were happy to find a clean, modern comfortable room with lovely facilities.
The buffet breakfast was also of good quality.
I would definitely stay here again if I was back in Heraklion.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights only, but we will definitely go back. First pleasant surprise was at check-in, when we were offered an upgraded VIP room with wonderful sea view. Best attention to all details is the dominant word for this hotel. Colors and combination of materials for room and bathroom decoration were perfectly chosen, bed very spacious and comfortable, luxury bath products, we even had a small flat TV in the bathroom. Room service very prompt and reasonably priced and the restaurant and bar staff very professional and kind. We have rarely found so professional, smiling and inviting reception, congratulations. Breakfast was rich and set up in an exquisite unique way. On top of that, hotel is very well located, close to all attraction points (a small concern may be the airplane traffic noise, but, we guess, that is more or less for any central hotel in Iraklio). Finally, we were kindly allowed to check out at 2 pm, free of charge (which, again, it is quite uncommon especially in season).

Stayed for one night only in this hotel but wish it could have been more! Had a room overlooking the port with great views. Lovely big room and bathroom with a balcony in both, very handy if nature called just when you were watching a ship come in! Very close to the museums, shops and restaurants and the bus station is next door.
All the staff were very helpful and gave great service.
The main road outside is quite noisy but the room was well soundproofed.
The only negative, which didn't really bother me, was that there was no English speaking chanels on the TV

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights - 2 nights when we first arrived in Crete and 1 night after we finished touring around the island ready to head back to the mainland. When we first arrived we were advised we had been upgraded to a VIP room. The room was pure luxury. We were given a junior suite which had views of the sea and castle, spa bath, luxury bathroom products, etc. Room was heaven.

Second time we stayed we were upgraded to a sea view room only. Bathroom products were luxury again but no spa. Room was a good size and bed comfortable.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was something else. Everything you could ask for was provided. Bread was fresh and absolutely wonderful. Huge array of hot, cold and sweets provided. This is a breakfast not to be missed.

Restuarants were a bit of a walk from the hotel so we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. Food was good quality.

We decided to use the hop on hop off bus for the day. Waste of money. Audio was useless and very little information provided. The hotel is actually located close to museums etc so we found we could have walked to most places, which we eventually did. Knossess was a distance but local buses went there. Catching the on off bus meant we spent quite some time waiting at the bus stop for the bus to come around. Bus came around every 90 minutes.

I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We booked a normal Executive room but because we stayed 3 nights they upgraded us to sea views and w...
